I’ve got a warning but I want to post a Marketplace thread - can you remove it for me?

I was eager to start ranking and I got a warning from a mod for breaking spam posting rules almost immediately after getting active here on the forums. Definitely not my intention! I have spent a couple hours browsing the forums, reading up on rules, and checking newbie posts since then and right as I got the PM about my infraction I was literally reading about what qualifies as spam posting.

I haven't found anything outlining the point system, how warnings on your profile might impact you long term, or guidelines about how long specific infractions might keep you in the "warning" zone? I'm not sure if that's the right term to use, but if I understand correctly having a warning on your account limits access to certain features on the forum.

Is there anything like that here on the forums that I can reference? If I am going to invest time into the community and building the credibility of this account, I don't want any hindrances or my reputation tarnished long term on a fresh account because of my ignorance.

Is there anything I am permanently banned from accessing now that I have a warning on my account? Thanks in advance for any insight or guidance.

Warnings only prevent you from being able to submit a marketplace threads.

The warnings are tiered, as you can see on your profile. We don't disclose exactly how the tiers work, but they don't tarnish your account.

Your recent warning expires on the 12th of October. The message you received with the warning should tell you everything you need to know to avoid getting another one for that in the future.

Got it, thanks for the clarification. I suppose it will take me at least 2 weeks to be in a position to start offering any services, which I fully intend to do!

The mod responded back to my message about this and directed me to support? I guess I'll go through that process as instructed and I'm sure I'll learn a lot through that as well.

Like I said, I was reading the rules about spam posting when I got the warning so I knew what it was about right away. I'll be sure to not make that mistake in the future. Thanks for your help!

No problem, I'm happy to provide the clarification.

We're all required to direct members to support, which is why you were directed there.

You're welcome!

I've been reading the rules and lost in them. There are so much rules. If I understood correctly the rules I've been reading till now indicates us to be civil, respectful to others, especially to administration, and not to cry after making a mistake.
Let me continue reading about the rules more.

Dear Admin,

I hope you're well. Previously, due to my unfamiliarity with the rules, I left my contact information multiple times in a short period and received a warning as a result. Now that the warning period has expired, I have a better understanding of the rules, and I’ve also upgraded my account to Jr. VIP.

May I ask — if I now leave my contact information under a post, will I receive another warning?

Thank you.

If you’re posting contact information in Want to Buy or Hire a Freelancer sections, yes, it will still result in warnings, as sharing contact details publicly in those areas is not allowed.

However, if you’re posting in your own approved Marketplace thread, you’re allowed to include your contact information there, as long as you follow the Marketplace rules.

Please make sure to review them carefully to stay fully compliant.
