So GoDaddy Auctions has a special section of domains for sale that their owners let expire and they are selling them for $5 (plus year renew fee). If you look at the massive list of domains you can sort them by monthly traffic. Most are nothing special but my idea was to purchase the ones with a few hundred visits a month and just park them with Sedo or whoever, and use the profits and from those clicks to buy more and continue the process. Before I start buying these domains do you think it would have a high enough profit margin??

dont get involved with this, it'll be a waste of money.

You would have to do it in bulk and return/refund under performers.

I have not done this myself, but have researched "Domain Kiting".
