My first thought ofc was australianshepherddogs - com, but that is up for sale at $13K. aussieshepherds is $2300. Then I started playing around with some slangs and came up with aussieshepherddogs - com which is avail to handreg.

Also avail: go australian shepherd - com
australian shepherd talk - com
oz shepherd - com
oz shepherds - com

Because "australian shepherd" is already a really long term for a domain name, adding a third word is going to make this cumbersome, as @Area 51 Man suggested.

I'd be more inclined to go with aussie bark(s) - com or australian bark(s) - com or even oz bark(s) - com

this is why I mention apple .com . Is a fruit name and yes Apple brand themselves in the first place. Use a Apple Logo so call it Apple . com

if There is no apple computer , It brand surely is about a company selling Apple a fruit .

as what you mention also quite true is establish a Brand perhaps now a days.

Come to domain name I does mention like Fashion, all those highly related keywords already owned by big companies or some lucky individuals.
These lucky individuals are the ones sell the domain name to these big companies If one happen want it as related to their company stuffs, products etc.

maybe this is why people flip domain which i not expert on this.

Thank you for your ideas and thoughts on this topic. Problem is, in my country the slang word 'aussi' is'nt very well known. There is no slang word for australian shepherd. But I'll take my time to go through all the ideas, thank you :)
 
It really depends man, technically, EMDs still work and should work, but the old spammy methods by buildling links do not, thus, you will need to somehow satisfy google's criteria in linking your EMD as the authority site for that keyword legitly, and once that is satisfied, your EMD will work marvelously for that keyword, as you are the authority for those words.

No, they don't if they are some odd extension. It's so much easier to create a simple name that isn't dogsmalltoysindia.in. Unless you have found the new holy grail of terminology that noone else has predicted.

Maybe more clicks leads to higher rankings and it gives off an image that having a keyword in domain names helps ranking rather then Google preferring it.

I do the same each time I google something, will examine what the domain name is

I just got a domain name which was like <placeName>.com for tours in that place.
still surprised why no one bought a domain with .com with exact name.

my question is how do I make a brand out of it ?
for my site name and also for Google business profile. any idea?
