Investing in Romania

The corruption is not so high, this thread is useless if you post on it only because you dont have anything else to do, you need to analize facts, this is my last post regarding this topic!

1.Romania is a country like anyother, as in any country is you're smart you can find something to invest in it!
2.Regarding the comparation with other country's, someone in here told me about indians, indians are cheap but they work hard, they dont do a good job but they are trying, i have lots of incidents with paypal and i've called them, paypal call support in india(a guy answered and was talking a very bad english, i coudnt understand what he was talking about)!
3.The big problem of romania are gipsy's, they are responsable for the crimes and so on!
4.A lot of people in here is comparing us bussines with some romanian bussines, you can't compare us with romania, romania is a small country, we have big name's like bitdefender and the list can continue, you can make money only if you are smart!
5.Lots of you guys dont earn nothing from online and you want to invest in romania and you are talking trash in here, thats a good joke, you are usted to click to buttons and you want money to come, that's not the way in real life, in real life you need to hustle, money dont come from the sky!
6.Im repeating myself but if you are smart you can invest in you;re town!

Please post only if you have more then 24 years and you have something inteligent to post because my time and others is limited and i dont have time to read idiotic things!


book1773 when you will know somethings about bussines please post in here, you posted the airplanes used by other companies, romania is a small country, we have 22.000.000 people, that strategy from tarom is actually smart, they have smaller costs and the profit is higher because all the airplanes used by them are full always, im not going in details because im bored already, i guess you have 16 years or something

I do know Romania is a smaller country and I indicated that in one of my posts about Parent Child Sex Trafficking.. Please do not EVEN compare Romania corruption to the united states.. I am not even Indian but I do give respect were it should be given.. Microsoft top programmers are Indian and yes outsourcing to a country were the English is not perfect does piss me off but it does not change the fact that they have the top elite programmers from that country and also surgeons..

So instead of trying to avoid the facts you should try and help fix the problem which
is a HUGE level of corruption for a small country and also there Retail Parent Child Sex Trafficking.. Also the only reason the big US companies are over there is to get cheap labor.. That's the problem here in the US all those jobs should be left here and not outsourced over seas.

One last thing the statical numbers of children being sold for sex in Romania is very high compared
to the over all population amount. Don't tell me it is not a problem. Just like the OP stated in other countries its hidden
to were here in Romania its out in the open because they pay the government and that is not only corruption but
something to be very ashamed of..

If you got the money investing into properties for rent in Romania is the way to go. Double your money in 10 years and buy more. Other types of business come down to corruption you'll end up not earning enough to pay your medical bills after they fry your brain out.

Investing in Romania would be the biggest mistake ever! Lived here my whole life! You can't make proffit unless u pay hudge bribe to government rippers.

Some of you folks should pull your heads out of your asses and stp believing what you read in the media about a person/country/whatever. Also stop generalizing. If I'd listen to the media I'd consider ALL Americans to be fanatic killers with an unusual taste for war, hungry for other countries resources, totally brainwashed, believing that they do God's mission on Earth by punishing the "barbaric" people (who happen to sit on resources), having a just birth right to not care about other people's opinions values or life. Then again, Americans are not really like that. Only some are like that and probably an extremely low number have all those attributes.

For every nation and country, if I'd look at the news or read the media I would very likely make a very different idea than if I'd actually meet those people.

As many said around here Romania is far from a paradise, however do not think that at every corner of the street there are parents selling their children and pedophiles ready to jump and steal your kids. Seriously now, there were a huge number of foreign pedophiles in Romania. Very very few were Romanian. They came from France, UK, Italy, Canada, USA, etc. and went to gipsy families which were very poor and payed them for children lying that they are from some organization to protect kids and they take them to a better living abroad. The family signed adoption papers and then those pedophiles took the kids out of the country. After a while the Romanian child protection organizations made things harder since they realized those foreigners were not just adopting poor people, they were taking them to abuse them.

There are cases with UK citizens that moved and lived in Romanian villages and abused children there. They were tutoring kids for English and the families thought he's a very nice guy to do it for free. However by the time the first child told his parents what happened, that UK guy already abused over 5 children in that village.

The vast majority of pedophiles in Romania are foreigners not Romanian. That doesn't mean some Romanians aren't really messed up. Every week or so you hear of a guy who killed his mother, a mother who threw her unwanted barely born child into a dumpster, two teenagers who raped a younger teenager, etc. Guess what? Shit like that happens everywhere because there are messed people in every corner of this planet. Get over it! If you want to see the bad things that's what you will see, if you want to see the good things, that's what you will see.


What amuses me that a lot of times those who point fingers at other countries are Americans. Considering that USA has BY FAR the highest crime rate in the world and in USA it is not that uncommon anymore to hear some teen bought an AK-47 and massacred his entire school... I don't know. I think you should first look at the dirt in your yard before pointing fingers at others. If a guy in Sweeden or some truly civilized country (not just as a country but as a people) would point fingers, then yeah, I'd have nothing to say, but when this comes from countries that are not a lot better in these regards... i find it simply ignorant for those people (NOT the entire nation).

I don't know for others but if i'd go in a foreign country I wouldn't go there to search for all the garbage there is in it but to search for the beauty and opportunities.

In Bucharest theres a population of about 2 million and 24 murders per year,in New orleans theres a population of about 350,000 and 174 per year. How can people say that Bucharest is dangerous?

I don't think so, I already said that most Romanians have a bad opinion about their country. It's not like with Americans which basically love their country no matter what somebody says about it. If somebody tells an American that Americans are stupid, he will tell him to go screw himself. If somebody tells a Romanian that Romanians are stupid he will probably say "yes, and it's the politicians fault and nothing works in this country and everybody is an asshole" like he wouldn't be part of that nation.

Also, I don't think Romania is the best place for investing or recommended for any type of investment. Then again, maybe you should figure out what you're good at, what kind of investment you want to do, and then find the right place. That as opposed to "forcing/limiting" yourself to a specific country without a good reason and then trying to fit your business in there... that's a bad approach.

I like looking at emerging markets but mainly (Russia,Romania,Bulgaria) everyone else is more focused on China and India at the moment. Since I'm young only 20, I could sit on an investment for 10-15 years,and still be young when I get the benefits of it.

It would be very easy for a seasoned businessman from the US... and A to make it, and make it BIG in a country like Romania. You just have to learn which ropes to pull.

Most of the small foreign investors posses a victim stench, hell some of them have a big banner on their foreheads - VICTIM.

But an individual like yourself, with your narrow - minded GRAND example which would put certain Romanian companies in a direct competition with an American company, won't make it even to the first corner.

So my simple-minded friend, stay home and walk hand in hand with Miss Information, be happy, smile and live your life.

Can you give more details about what kind of business you're thinking to start in Romania? What market, what kind of investment money you have, etc?

jazzclub - not a great idea. i have a friend who tried to reposition his pub as a jazz club... he lost most of his clients within 1 month. He was located in Bucharest. It seems while there are quite a few who love jazz, not many come back often. This came as a surprise to me because I always thought a jazz club in Bucharest is a great business idea.

real estate - works, especially if you buy when prices are low. personally i don't like to invest in real estate at this point because I am blocking too much money I could use in ways that would give me quicker ROI. But good luck.

my first job ever ( like 12 years ago or so ) was into a jazz club , actually first ( and I think only one from timisoara - don't know there was other one over the time ) but the club closed after 2 years or so ... was owned by a jazz singer witch is living there ... no doubt this guy dropped it since there was I think average profit after salaries and everything like $300 at the time ...

My two cent's I think is better to try to think yourself more for advertising/it/software markets - there will be some good reason for this ( cheap labor , with some patience you can find great/dedicated workers ... ) like I said my 0.2 ...

anyway on bucharest might work better real estates than rest of the country lol ... even if roi is not so great still quite safe investment ...

A big European bank recently moved it's call centre from India back to the Uk because how bad the Indians were at serving the British.

this is most probably because indians just have so damn funny accent damn it ... it's not even something close to english language ! if the bank named there served english customers no doubt they made a good move ... I had few weeks ago a call from virgin media some kind of indian gurl with a very funny accent wanted to sell me some crappy new mobile phone ... lol ... I don't say there indian folks aren't speak good english ... is just because your native language is way too different than english ...

from my experience wrost english and german accent is comming from indians , then it's same fun when you listen a chinese speaking italian ... just can't stop having fun about this , I think I asked an chinese on italy like 5-6 times in row same things just to keep him talking he was so funny
