What is the best way to invest in Romania? Is it in government bonds or stocks in Romanian companies?

There is about $20 billion(13 billion euro) of gold and silver in Rosia Montana,Romania.

There's also at least 708 megawatts of wind farms being planned,because the government wants 24% of the electricity production to come from renewable energy by 2020.

The only thing lacking is lowering the tax rate to 9% from 16% to attract American businesses from Ireland and Switzerland.Romania as well as Greece is losing at of money to Bulgaria because of the 10% tax rate there.With some advertising Romania will not only get those businesses back,but get alot from Switzerland and Ireland,which will grow the economy from all the jobs created by small offices. At least 25%(5 million persons out of 20 million) of the population in Romania speaks English,which means there is more English speakers in Romania then Ireland.

Why is so many people on BHW negative about Romania,and never pays attention to the current business news like the Rosia Montana gold?

No,but I know that there is bad areas in Romania. Just like How America has Detroit,New Orleans etc. And I'm thinking 10-15 years out,its easier to get in now,before your left behind trying to get in then.

I would invest in the Cuban cocaine trade before I invested in the Romanian market. In Cuba, if someone steals your product, you know you can just shoot them. In Romania, everyone will freak out like there's no tomorrow, simply because they are bored with their lives. For some reason most Romanians think they are the most important thing that ever lived....ok I'm ranting cuz I moved out of there...

But if you want to invest in anything, it should be offline. What I suggest is searching for something that's successful in America and research to see if it's possible to adapt it to the market. Remember, Roms like to be flashy and show how successful they are (the fake millionaire).

So its like the Joneses in America,who brag about being wealthy but are in a ton of debt? I just think that due to the gold and silver+wind farms+IT field and the 3rd fastest internet in the World, Romania's economy is going to boom soon. The only thing preventing an explosion of growth now is being located next to Bulgaria,and bad advertising of tourism.

It's people like you with your mentality Roparadise, that will change things. Unfortunately it's easier said than done. Whatever you want to make here, everyone has to get their "cut" of the pie. As someone mentioned there is corruption here, but corruption has a good side as well (business-wise). Whoever cries about corruption is either poor or doesn't have the brain capability to start a business.

Yea. Have you tried looking into credit cards, loans, or those legal loan shark businesses? (I forgot what they are called, but it's a building you walk into, you give them money, and they pay you back at some ridiculous interest rate.)

I haven't researched it, but from a glance, China, India, America, and the UAE look like the best buy for renewable energy.
 
mate my goal is to buy a local Arms Company and hope to expand it globally, ;) interesting how everyone has their own goals, cars, women, gold,companies :) interesting LOL

Its better to have some pie then no pie at all.:D Most people I've noticed complain so much about how things are done that they will never be able to start a business,because they think they cannot. They will make excuses about how they don't know a politician to get it done,or I can't make it here etc.


If people really think that business in America,UK or other "western" nations is totally ethical and no corruption they are fooling themselves.

When I have enough capital I will make it a point to go to Romania and invest in apartment buildings, night clubs etc. One thing that Romania has is pretty ladies so advertising to American men an all inclusive vacation would make big bank.

Money talks, Bullshit walks! No matter what country your in or wanting to start a business in.

Some guys have already done this. This is why Basescu is president.

However, most of you ignorant people forget one thing, there are top companies who have invested a lot in Romania: Nokia, Renault, Mittal Steel, Siemens, not to say that coming to online, Romanian companies have always developed good software and big sites (I personally know someone that earns more than 100 k/year).
You say investing in Romania isn't worthy? Tell that to Nokia (they built a whole factory in Jucu, near Cluj) and several secundary headquarters.

The fact is that, as the medium salary is about 250 E, is a business is started, and people are supervised properly, it can't get bad. I admit that there is a lot of corruption. But hey, most of the businesses aren't perfectly clean (if you know what I mean), therefore from some point of view, it might be a good thing.


So, all the people here who have never been here in Romania and barely know where this country is situated, but pretend to know everything about it because they read some articles in newspaper (like the press would ever be interested of presenting the real facts), can go and kiss some ass.

Not trying to offend any romanians here,but isnt there more not hot women in Romania then hot? Its just that you dont see all the average ones in music videos. But if you do a google serch for crowds in bucharest you will see the average women. But because of Western europe's and espcially America's obesity problem then there will be a higher % of hot girls in Romania.

But usually older guys are stupid so its easy to trick them into thinking every girl is super hot.

You forgot to mention Cisco they are one of the major investors in Romania,and they have predicted that Romania will become a major media producing nation and leave the U.S. Behind,due to the availibility of fast internet in Romania which is currently ranked 3rd and will surpass south korea late next year.
