Investing in Romania

That's why I keep on saying the few wealthy people in Romania should
come together to stop the Parent Child Sex Trafficking. I guess you can say that in one Big business in Romania that is making people rich there.. It's sad.

In the USA instead of seeing commercials for tourism in Romania
like you see commercials all the time for England,New Zealand, Canada,
even Asia but all you see regarding Romania is there HUGE Parent child sex trafficking Epidemic

I never see anything about there child sex trafficking problem if they really have an epidemic, which i doubt. Theres no tourism ads because the government as only spent 7 million euro on tv ads, which doesn't go far. I'm not going to lose money because of a little child trafficking in a country and its done by gypsies not Romanians.

Hi, im from romania actually, in romania you find smart people, if someone wants to invest in something it should invest in people, a lot of doctors, scientist, directors of companies and so on in you're country are actually from romania, at microsoft and other programming companies are working a lot of romanians, you should google it, about investing in other areas you should also google about : Marea Neagra, Delta, Muntii Carpati

and other areas that are superb but lack the proper advertise

Romania is as other country's(maybe as your'se) but i admit that we have a problem, the problem is that the salary's are very low but the pries are the same as in the EU, so a salary is 200-300 euro's(medium) and the prices are the same as in you're country(a pack of ciggs is 3 euro), that's one of the problem

How well do international companies pay vs local companies, in the major cities such as bucharest and iasi etc.?

The same, but we know to do lots of other things so we get aditional money from other parts, like someone is working as a electrician but it's also good as a car mechanic so it's getting money from fixing someone's car and so on, how many of you guys can do aditional jobs, i was in tenerife, gran canaria, madrid, barcelona ,italy(rome) in vacation and really the people in there are not good even for they're job so we cant talk about knowing aditional jobs, the biggest valuable good in romania is people, you can find people that are very good in an area

ofcourse they pay same crappy salary , there is no reason for anyone to pay more with no reason ... few pages up someone said and I replies about case of nokia company from jurcu (* nearst cluj ) ... they pay same crappy salary lol ... I think ( if I`m not wrong ) best salaries from an international company comes from continental group atleast on timis / timisoara area ... in bucharest salaries come bit more ... pretty normal to be same for capital .... even with this don't think you have to pay top xx.xxx salaries for your employers there in next 25-30 years -.- not even for top brand managers lol ....

like a short note : there aren't too much '' local companies '' , like 99% maybe more from old communist companies got already sold / bought by international companies :) there are very small numbers of actually pure romanian business think is about less than 1% maybe ???

Good to read about a person who is from Romania and can talk a more accurate information about his country.

In my case: I LOVE ROMANIA's girls..ehehehe. They are wonderful. :)

Why is Tarom still 95% government owned? They could sell off a 40% stake in the company and still control it. It would give them a few million dollars to expand and upgrade their company+advertise more. The amount of passengers grew 24% in 2010 compared to 2009.

I can sure tell you the top programmers in the US are programmers from india. There
education is far more advanced then Romania could even comprehend. Microsoft top programmers are from India.. Are top surgeons are from India. You never hear of any top programmers or Doctors or Lawyers for that matter from Romania. I can say one thing Romania is smarter then the US in is Corruption and Extortion. We have it here in the US however Romania is at a totally different level..

P.S. I am not even Indian

I forgot to mention when you do a search on youtube with this keyword
romania is poor you get these videos of people filming expensive cars.. That
does not prove anything.. I can tell you countless people in the US who have all
those cars in all the videos combined parked in there custom build garage...

Shoot Bill Gates could probably buy Romania if he wanted to..

Amazon- USA
Microsoft- USA
Yahoo- USA
Facebook- USA
Myspace - USA
Linkedin- USA
Twitter- USA
Oracle-- USA
Buy--- USA
Ebay- USA

The list goes on..

I don't think they will find anyone from this industry to invest into a company witch produce only losses LOL ... only reason for what the government keep pimping founds there it's most probably because they need to keep the airplanes for official use ( the president and other official visits outside ) ... and of course some kind of selfish/ false proudly annoying shits about a '' national company '' witch btw have no damn thing to do with current competition from this industry . Virtually TAROM is like not existent ( carpatair / wizair/blueair/airlingus and others ) takes all the travelers , I don't think they cover even the fees from airports where they fly lol .... like one word - bankrupt lol ...

it's similar with the story from siderurgica galati , currently owned by Mittal , maybe one of the biggest industrial parks from there , for ages got rapped / destroyed by some peoples with high connections , virtually leaving nothing behind just debts and apocalyptic disaster ... then selling whole thing for bargain price + of course some fatty commissions where they '' need to go '' :)

Do you think Carpatair could beat Tarom and be number one in a few years?

If I would invest in Romania it would only be in the music industry. There are some great names which have exploded in the recent years, just to mention Morandi, INNA, Alexandra Stan, Akcent and many more

I was on several beach parties across Europe this year (Greece, Montenegro, Croatia, Spain etc) and all of them had like 60-70 % Romanian dance / house music

it's not even need for years for this , carpatair already kick tarom a$$ from most of their routes :) ... the key on air industry is low cost tickets , company who can manage to drop even 1 euro from their line flights prices it's an winner on this industry ... look what happens with aerlingus and blueair lol .... even jet2 damn it it's better than tarom and have more flights ... tarom is on market just because of pride of the romanian government ... this company have no damn income since years ...

Actually there is not a problem with tarom in special , entire transport system was used to be abused over the years , even curent president have some funny stories from the times when he was part of the executive government :) this little bastard managed to sell like whole romanian marine ships :)
The rail's also are even worst ....

perfect recipe for entertainment industry ... a chick ( or more ) good looking ones , witch are available to drop their clothes at first sign :) ... how can someone like morandi , inna or others can be proud to make music ? what this folks makes is not called music , is something like ''gagaldigug '' sounds and some shitty words put them on some context with no sense and not even humor ... there was enescu maybe only one romanian who made ever music ...

Carpatair started with only 1 leased plane in 1999,now they have 18 planes they own, they probably will get to 30 within a few years.
Both enescu and inna are good singers,it depends on the listeners taste. There is no good and no bad singers just tastes. And Male singers "drop their clothes" just as much. If your going to complain about women doing it,then complain about men doing it or your just a misogynist cry baby.

You really don't understand the principle of investing? The best way to make money in any market or company is to invest early on. A person that invested $100 in Microsoft in 1987 would have over $1 million today. Now the only way to make money off MS is to day trade the stock.

I understand about investing... Yes investing in new ipo in one way to make
money.. However here is an honest question for you.. Why would someone want to
invest into a country that is so darn corrupt that they could steal from there own stock market if they wanted to?? I do understand corruption is every were and yes in the USA to but corruption in Romania is like a virus that needs to be killed.. It's very bad and why would someone want to invest and know at anytime all there money could be gone? An investor doesn't want to half to deal with extortion to run a business. That's crazy..

I mean you guys are sitting here posting about if you run a business you have to pay this and that and threats.
Its like Extortion on steroids..

Also I bet if I was to go to Romania and try to start up a business they would take all my
money before I could even put up the sign that says WERE OPEN FOR BUSINESS

They won't take your money, but from what the other people have said for some types of businesses you just do something to get a favor from a politician. The part of the U.S. I come from its exactly the same so it doesn't bother me if it is really true. And the country is not nearly as corrupt as it was, since they have joined the EU. They are starting to arrest alot of people for taking bribes. Romania is no more corrupt then the United States, its just that its a different style of corruption then what is done in the United States.

Hi Ropardisw
Havnt dropped in on this thread in a while/

From your defensive responses, I think you have made up your mind to go.

I just want to wish you the best of luck.
I hope you keep us informed of how you get on.
Maybe someday we meet for a beer.

As regards child prostitution, it happens and mostly its gypsy children, or poor peasant families, But remember nothing happens in Romania without the proper people being bribed,

So the police and polticins hare being paid off.

Unlike in other countries, where this is hidden. In Romania, everybody knows your business, So all it would take to stop 995 of it would be the will to stop it. by the government.

Finally from what I hear romanian prisons are hell. and your family are expected to feed you, Only the small time crooks and gypsies go to jail.

Enjoy yourself while your there
