Investing in Romania

Hi, im from romania actually, in romania you find smart people, if someone wants to invest in something it should invest in people, a lot of doctors, scientist, directors of companies and so on

Exactly - I'm reading this thread and wondering how to find some good Romanian coders. I need PHP coders, wordpress themers, codeigniter, etc. Any suggestions how to find them? And can Romanians take paypal?

Would you say these pictures are a fair or unfair image of "the real Romania"?

when I saw them, I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

I could do this all day long for any nation, showing why you shouldn't live in it or why it looks good to live. Obviously I'm not moving to the ghetto.

loads of them hang around to gaf/elance and other freelance sites like this , most of them don't even say them are romanians ( from obvious reasons - most of them are shame to say this lol ) . Yes romania was accepted on paypal allowed countries since few years , even if most of peoples simply don't like monopoly moneys ...

how can I say without give a wrong sense of my tough's ... let's say just it's not even half-smart idea to take like true everything what you say :) ... understand what you wanna from this words :) ok ?:)

@keinehabe

Omg, i would like to quote all your replies from this thread :))

They are brilliant, straight to the point.

:)))

For all the people out there, he`s right about Romania, in every little aspect :)))

@RoParadise -> How old are you? :) Frate, termina cu Romania.

When someone says beautiful country, and he`s referring to Romania, be sure as hell they are meaning beautiful landscapes :D

Do not even think to do this will end into so long quote ... sometime is hard for me also to remember what craps I`m saying there , thanks anyway ...
I`m afraid RoParadise will not understand the romanian words he's romanian language skills aren't so good (yet) but I`m sure he will improve :)

Agriculture
actually , romania is / was since centuries a region based on agriculture , wondering if you know even 1 single person on history who really made money from agriculture ; to be honest this can be a real challenge since agriculture can bring you a decent living , still is not a suitable reason for '' investments '' in general ( when you refer to investments - the investor - usually looking to recover the invention then take some profit - unfortunately with agriculture such scenario is simply utopia ! )

I could do this all day long for any nation, showing why you shouldn't live in it or why it looks good to live. Obviously I'm not moving to the ghetto.

Removed from your quote the vids :) ... you know ... it's not about sunny landscapes , it's not about good and bad things , I`m sure any honest american can find atleast 10 things what he can be shame from hes country ... same with french , italians , germans , english peoples and so on ... An old saying '' every forest have hes dryness '' . I think I told you before , you can't compare US with europe ( specially the eastern europe ) ; What do you think Paris don't have '' not so good areas '' ? or Milan / Berlin / Wien ? ... everywhere is something what you can say bad about something , but is not good way to see things like this ... I mean yeh pessimistic view can be understand from someone like me when I say something about romania , also from you when you say something in same manner about Detroit for example ... even with this is not '' good way to manage our feelings '' about our places ! At the end of the day you have to simply follow your dreams ( in general dreams are good for us - for everyone - without dreams like yours we will finish all into some huge multinational corporations working from 9 to 5 like semi-brainless machines for '' higher performance '' ) ...
Does anyone know of any regulations of importing live reptiles into Europe for breeding purposes?
Well afaik my reply about alligators was bit ironic :) ... the natural climate from eastern europe aren't makes them ( alligators ) too happy ... even if on zoo camps they might have ... I think I can find the law's from romania who regulate import/export of living animals ( don't think I`ll have time to translate them on english ) ... But most probably will be a bad idea to really start such thing of venture lol ...[ mostly romania exporting living animals - specially blonde ones preferably 18+ - but they aren't need any special rules at customs just their national id or passport ;)) ]

Welcome dreamers and you can take an example from this guy , at least he have the guts to follow hes dreams ! I`m sure everyone of you saw somewhere on this forum '' never quit / never go back '' .

I dont know romanian at all basically(only maybe 40 words) since the closest school is like 1400 miles away. Theres also no good language program like Rosseta Stone for Romanian where it teaches you the language un the way you learned your first one.

AFAIK for english native language speakers most of latin languages are quite hard to learn , specially romanian one have some particular fine things witch can take ages to learn them in the way how they are used by native speakers :) . For us ( latins/ romanian in general ) when we are hearing you guys speaking our language is same fun like a native english man have with indians folks :) . Moreover you don't even have to bother too much with this aspect since '' non verbal communications '' with pitzi works best :) just show them your wallet and you are set ;))

Actually Romanian was listed as one of the easiest languages for persons with their first language as English. Modern English is actually latin based for the most part due to the fact that 60% of English comes from French and French is a Latin based language.
If I got the right resources and had enough time on my hands(about 5 years) I could achieve a nearly native accent of Romanian without acting like movie stars do.

I can't find the video anymore, but there was a guy from China that immigrated to Canada at age 20,and by the time he was 25 he had about a 98% native accent of English.

One of the reasons that when people learn another language that they do not achieve a native or near native accent,is because the schools focus more on the grammar and written part to much. And most people will not listen to another media(tv,radio etc.) in Another language all the time, espically if they are living in an area where their first language is the most common spoken.

One of my dreams when I make a lot of money is to spend a fuckton of money having a course developed for different languages where a person would easily learn the language and achieve a native accent.

If you took Latin in school, you can sorta understand what they are saying...at least I can.

If you studied Latin, any of the "Romance" languages" are easy to learn.

At least 25%(5 million persons out of 20 million) of the population in Romania speaks English, which means there is more English speakers in Romania then Ireland.

Ireland has a population of 3.5million about 99.99% of the population speaks English

I honestly doubt on Ireland is someone ( well native Irish I mean ) who aren't speaking english :) ... Of course Irish language sounds nice for me , but I didn't found ( yet ) anyone who aren't speaking english LOL ... :) ... To be honest I know an Irish guy who don't speak Irish , only english ...

About the percents of english speakers on romania , you can see like this : romanian educational system force students until they finish the equivalent of college to learn loads of things . The programmed study is so condense ( well in last few years maybe they made some changes is true but ... worthless ) ... kids have mandatory 2 languages to pass ( usually english ) ... Also consider there , the internet boom which practically caught romania on some historically point where at least peoples from my generation saw '' a source of information '' - mainly in english is true but I think this is not so important at all .

Is English the most taught one due to the fact English is the most spoken in the world at 1.8 billion persons compared to Chinese which is second at 1.3 billion persons. So it makes more sense to learn it then french or german?

mate my goal is to buy a local Arms Company and hope to expand it globally, ;) interesting how everyone has their own goals, cars, women, gold, companies :) interesting LOL

Great idea, I'm up for a bit of that

I worked/lived in Dublin for 5 years watching the locals rob each other on anything from pints and taxi fairs and now it's all gone are they looking for the next place to do it.

from personal point of view , only reason english language become '' global spoken language '' , or how you wanna call , most spoken one ... is because of the colonies :) ... but again , it's just an personal point of view ... military force / economically influence and so on ...

:) Dublin is cool

ok... i haven't read the whole thread... too much for me to do in the "morning" ... but let me tell you this. I'm from RO .. i have a few offline businesses in here and if YOU want to invest in Romania I have one top gear top tip for you :) .. just wait for another .. let's say 40-50 years or so ;)

Almost everybody is corrupt and you can't do anything without paying loads of $$ to the left & right. Now, don't get me wrong.. i love my country and there are plenty of opportunities in here, but if you don't know the system ( how things work around here ) you might get f*cked up and without $$$.

And I'm gonna end with a quote from a friend of mine. In our country best deals & businesses are made with the goverment. so unless you know a senator, minister, president, etc think before you put your money somewhere.

cheers. ;)

you make money when investing in developing countries. end of discussion

Take a look at page 2 of the pictures:

Unfortunately most Romanians tend to have self-deprecating humor and unfortunately this doesn't really translate well because in the US, for example, everybody accentuates their positives and their achievements. In Romania it's the other way around! They will always accentuate the negatives and hide or minimize their achievements.

That video seems stupid. Vlad tepes was the nickname of Vlad III Dracula,And the first beer was made in China. As for the women,No one can say Romania has the hottest in the world. It would be imposible to look at every woman from every nation to find which nation has the hottest.

Also the fountain pen may have actually been invented around 953 ce in egypt, not in the the 1800's by that Romanian guy. Whenever there is a video like that about any nation they tend to not do there research well enough and make there nation seem to be so good.
