Over the past couple of years I've sunk thousands into Iwriter and despite getting some crappy results some of the time, I now have a dozen or so authors with close to 5 star ratings that do 90% of the work I need. The price is pretty good. Certainly once you have good authors good enough to post on your own blog. 1000 words for just over $25.

You can get it a lot cheaper than that from Iwriter and other sites, but it tends to be crap.

Best option ever (most cost effective to scale up) a reliable PA from Micronesia/Polynesia $650 a month for 80-100 superb articles once you get over the learning and communication hump.
(If you go through an agency the PA keeps almost $600 Which is nearly three times the average household income of the area - so everyone wins)

Have you already hired? If not, can you please give me more information on what additional services you would want handled other than writing? Let me know if you have any budget in this regard as well. I have handled wordpress sites before for posting content.

Don't use content mills, especially if you're looking for someone to completely curate the content for your website.

You always want someone who is not only trustworthy, but also has a lot to offer in regards to quality.
