I meditated every day for two years

I am not joking, did it really help you with porn addiction? I am going to check more info on meditation.
yes, it did. Its no doubt that regular meditation will not only help you with porn addiction but other addictions as well. but its not like you meditated for 4-5 days and you stop watching porn automatically. it takes time and dedication from your side.

I want to meditate, but looking at your post that touches stop masturbating and porn, I take it off.
porn addiction is really bad. I am not even joking. There's a lot of scientific evidence for it. but anyway, in the end, it's your choice if you choose porn or meditation.

Very happy to read such topics here.
I'm practice meditation too. I wish I can be as consistent as you.
Congratulations on your inner change.
thanks and good luck with your meditation sessions as well. But try to be consistent, even if you don't have time on certain days just do it for 5 minutes but do it.

Brilliant, OP. Nice to hear that you've found/created your own sanctuary.

Meditation and Tai Chi every day here for the past 33+ years. (My friends call me Zen).

Excellent post OP
Someone asked about recommendation on YouTube videos or mp3. If you are very new to it then i would recommend just make a habit of sitting calm/eyes closed without missing a day for 10 minutes. You will start exploring yourself.

Love to read your experience. I wanted to do. But due to IM works, I couldn't do.

I have a small story for you.

Just copy paste from web.

Once upon a time there was a very strong wood-cutter. He asked for a job from a timber merchant and he got it. The pay was very good and so were the work conditions and for that reason the wood-cutter was determined to do his very best. His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area in the forest where he was to work.

The first day the wood-cutter cut down 18 trees. His boss was extremely impressed and said, “Well done. Keep it up. You are our best wood-cutter yet.” Motivated by his boss’s words, the wood-cutter tried even harder the next day, but he only cut down 15 trees. The third day he tried even harder but only cut down 10 trees.

Day after day the woodcutter cut down fewer and fewer trees. His boss came to him and told him that if he did not chop down more trees each day he would lose his job. The wood-cutter needed the job, so he tried harder and harder. He worked during his lunch breaks and tea breaks, but still he could not cut down enough trees. “I must be losing my strength” the wood-cutter thought to himself. He worked over-time, but still it was not enough.

Eventually his boss came to him and told him he was fired. The wood-cutter was really upset, but he knew that he had worked as hard as he could and just did not have enough time to chop more trees. He sadly handed his axe back.

The boss took one look at the axe and asked, “When was the last time you sharpened your axe?

“Sharpen my axe?” the wood-cutter replied. “I have never sharpened my axe. I have been too busy trying to cut down enough trees.”

Moral of the story:
Don’t get so busy that you don’t take time to sharpen your axe.

What a
Meditation helps to calm down,, my usual heart beat per minute is 55 to 65. This could be achieved only by the meditation or while you are sleeping.

I have been meditating since from 4 years regularly and one hour daily.
Their are various ways of meditation I prefer visualization and breath concentration together..

Meditation helped me to stay aware, silent observer and goal orineted..

OP, what meditation method do you use?

Do you use TM (mantra) or Vipassana (watching your thoughts melt)?

I've experimented with both but I prefer something simpler like "wide eyed meditation" (ie., observing an object and focusing completely on it)

That's lovely bro! Meditation is the essence of life. I am a Buddhist doing internet marketing for several years. I have been a gym freak from the past 5 years and I have been practicing meditation daily for years now. I have also been to vipassana retreats.

There are six popular types of meditation practice:

  • mindfulness meditation
  • spiritual meditation
  • focused meditation
  • movement meditation
  • mantra meditation
  • transcendental meditation

Meditation and other things have helped me with a lot of things! I am always focused on my diet. I have been away from porn for a long time now!
I have been regularly doing meditation and different kinds of yoga & breathwork like Wim hof and other kinds! I found a youtube channel where they good videos for breathwork with audio convert them to mp3 and start doing them daily!

Follow this basic course which is online for everyone it's of 10 days!
You'll learn the basics and understand the concept of meditation!

Can you shortly explain the differences between them

hey I'll copy-paste it from the web for you but if you want to know deep about them just google or youtube them lot's of good knowledge is available

follow this link for more - https://www.healthline.com/health/mental-health/types-of-meditation#transcendental-meditation

1. Mindfulness meditation
Mindfulness meditation originates from Buddhist teachings and is the most popular meditation technique in the West.

In mindfulness meditation, you pay attention to your thoughts as they pass through your mind. You don’t judge the thoughts or become involved with them. You simply observe and take note of any patterns. This practice combines concentration with awareness. You may find it helpful to focus on an object or your breath while you observe any bodily sensations, thoughts, or feelings.

This type of meditation is good for people who don’t have a teacher to guide them, as it can be easily practiced alone.

2. Spiritual meditation
Spiritual meditation is used in Eastern religions, such as Hinduism and Daoism, and in Christian faith. It’s similar to prayer in that you reflect on the silence around you and seek a deeper connection with your God or Universe.

Spiritual meditation can be practiced at home or in a place of worship. This practice is beneficial for those who thrive in silence and seek spiritual growth.

3. Focused meditation
Focused meditation involves concentration using any of the five senses. For example, you can focus on something internal, like your breath, or you can bring in external influences to help focus your attention. Try counting mala beads, listening to a gong, or staring at a candle flame.

This practice may be simple in theory, but it can be difficult for beginners to hold their focus for longer than a few minutes at first. If your mind does wander, it’s important to come back to the practice and refocus.

As the name suggests, this practice is ideal for anyone who requires additional focus in their life.

4. Movement meditation
Although most people think of yoga when they hear movement meditation, this practice may include walking through the woods, gardening, qigong, and other gentle forms of motion. It’s an active form of meditation where the movement guides you.

Movement meditation is good for people who find peace in action and prefer to let their minds wander.

5. Mantra meditation
Mantra meditation is prominent in many teachings, including Hindu and Buddhist traditions. This type of meditation uses a repetitive sound to clear the mind. It can be a word, phrase, or sound, such as the popular “Om.”

It doesn’t matter if your mantra is spoken loudly or quietly. After chanting the mantra for some time, you will be more alert and in tune with your environment. This allows you to experience deeper levels of awareness.

Some people enjoy mantra meditation because they find it easier to focus on a word than on their breath. This is also a good practice for people who don’t like silence and enjoy repetition.

6. Transcendental meditation
Transcendental meditation is the most popular type of meditation around the world, and it’s the most scientifically studied. This practice is more customizable than mantra meditation, using a mantra or series of words that are specific to each practitioner.

This practice is for those who like structure and are serious about maintaining a meditation practice.

bro, love to hear that you are a Buddhist. According to that, I think you are using meditation that very close to it. Can I know it?

True
i meant "meditation"
he drinks alcohol to relax

question - how many months/days it took for you to notice some positive improvements?
it actually depends on a person and the type of meditation you do . But In general it takes around 7-14 days to see the changes on yourself if you continuosly meditate atleast 15 minutes a day. but its all upto you so inorder to know it you yourself should start meditating.
