He is allowed to colect the Data. The problem for him is that he want to ship it to the US. So if he chooses to break the EU protection rules. They cant sue him in the US.
Its a simple business decision. He can choose to drop out of the EU market. where I am pretty sure the void he leaves will be filled rapidly by many companies. Eventually one of them will come out on top.
With the sort of money available to them from Europe and the rest of the world wanting to follow the EU rules.
Does Meta. really want that sort of competition, expecially now that FB is on a downward slope.

If a Business rely on FB advertising only ,than those entrepreneurs must have low IQ and deserve something like this.Also I can't imagine a Business (online 4 example) who get its traffic from a Single social platform.well ,just in case they are 15 y old BHW members who Re Spamming the shit out of FB with CPA links than its sad .

Why you even talk about advertising? Did i mentioned it?
Anyway, here in Europe Facebook, IG are main social media imo, closing them will get BIG brands loose their chance of communication with their customers, many brands use facebook and instagram to showcase their work and products.

Thats pretty much the same thing as not being allowed to collect data because he knows he will most definitely break those EU policies

One thing will always replace another and quite often in a better way. It may not even be a loss for Mark Zuckerberg : it may be a temporary loss only. He may soon invent something way beyond our imagination and any losses even in terms of loss of business valuation, etc would be reversed and who knows his businesses may even be valued 10 times more than it is now. People with deep pockets & a techie brain can easily swing things around.
