On August 1, Google rolled out another big algorithm update. So now how to Recover from the Google Medic Update? please suggest.

Google medic ?

Edit: just read up. Wow that's really interesting it's actually a niche related update

Checked for the Medi update solution on multiple platforms, but did not fully satisfied with facts. Got suggestion for updating the content on the website. Also, improve the trustworthiness of the website.

Hey Nitin,

Unfortnaley there is no magic bullet here. This takes time and resources. You absolutely need to make systemic changes throughout the enitrity of your website if you where affected by this algo change.. First be transparent, who are you? (who's operating the site), what is its goal?, think 'about us' page. Below are a few additional pointers.. I'd also urge you to google the google quality guidelines, while a lengthy document, worth the insights.

1. Focus on E-A-T Expertise, Authority, and Trustworthiness
2. Make sure your site is very mobile friendly
3. Get rid obtrusive CTA's, popups, 3rd party ads
4. Revamp your content. With FACTS & SOURCES.

Thank You, Dubyah. I have implemented all above-mentioned strategies on the website. Just waiting for its effect, let us see what will happen.

We have multiple sites for our company and since the "Medic" update we've lost over 50% of our daily traffic from Google. I can't for the life of me figure out why our competitors are still doing well and we aren't even on Google anymore. We have all the correct accreditations, all our content is written by people with medical degrees, all the correct policies are in place, the websites have been optimised, there's no duplicate content and even if there was we never had an issue with that before the update. Can someone please give me some direction? Thanks

You need to have authority. Look at your content and ask yourself, would youself trust this site?

To be more specific, google published a guide on this. Pretty simple, just google for "google eat guidelines".

Good luck!

The Medic update hit sites pretty hard that did not have any trust signals on their website. Unless you post your website URL, it's hard to give you specific advice; however, I would encourage you to make sure you have a SSL setup, A Terms Of Service Page, a Private Policy Page, some accessibility work on your main pages. If it's a WordPress website, install an accessibility plugin.

Thanks for the info, the url is drugtestingclinics.co.uk (haven't posted enough to include links yet). We have SSL certificates, a privacy policy page (and official document), and a terms and conditions official document. Would you suggest we had these documents as pages rather than media?

Hey Tom,

Thank you for sharing, I looked at your site, and overall it looks pretty good; however, there are some things you should do. For example, the schema on your webpage is not complete. I noticed you have stuff for organization, and website, but that's not enough. Please take a look at my webpages as a reference on how to implement this properly. I left my source code unminified, so you should be able to copy and paste my json code, and change it to yours.

Also, none of your pages are validating to W3C standards, please get this fixed as soon as possible. And, install an accessibility plugin, once again, look at my website as a reference to what the accessibility plugin looks like.

Finally, running GTmetrix, I noticed you were having problems with speed. I would install the "fastest cache premium" plugin and a CDN (content delivery network) if you have not done so already. Make sure these two are configured properly.

Try those suggestions and let me know if you see an improvement.

How are things looking ing Goole Webmaster Tools? Do you see any errors, warnings, messages? etc..? Are all your pages indexed from your sitemap?

You can easy recover by romoving all medical words from your site. Not only the prescription drug list given by Google but also the unofficial circulating list with medical words.

Remove all prescription drugs and medical words and by miracle you will recover. You have page discovered but non indexed as reason in your search console? Google will tell you its about density, this is only half of the reason.

I looked at your website. The words kit, test, drug, healthcare, cannabis, marijuana are all prohibited words since 26 november 2018. You need to remove these words to rank again. Your site is old and has EAT in place, good structured urls. How do I know all this? I dont work for Google but I submit adwords campaigns and dicuss with the Google support team every day. Most of even the support team members dont realise this fact but some do.

I am looking for people who have seen their indexed pages dropped since august. I believe I have solutions like removing all medical words. If someone wants to call my company to talk about our common problem you are welcome. We already dismissed 20 of the 36 people working for us because It is very dramatic. My number 0032 16 89 55 44
