On August 1, Google rolled out another big algorithm update. So now how to Recover from the Google Medic Update? please suggest.
1. Focus on E-A-T Expertise, Authority, and Trustworthiness
2. Make sure your site is very mobile friendly
3. Get rid obtrusive CTA's, popups, 3rd party ads
4. Revamp your content. With FACTS & SOURCES.
We have multiple sites for our company and since the "Medic" update we've lost over 50% of our daily traffic from Google. I can't for the life of me figure out why our competitors are still doing well and we aren't even on Google anymore. We have all the correct accreditations, all our content is written by people with medical degrees, all the correct policies are in place, the websites have been optimised, there's no duplicate content and even if there was we never had an issue with that before the update. Can someone please give me some direction? Thanks
Thanks for the info, the url is drugtestingclinics.co.uk (haven't posted enough to include links yet). We have SSL certificates, a privacy policy page (and official document), and a terms and conditions official document. Would you suggest we had these documents as pages rather than media?
Hey Tom,
Thank you for sharing, I looked at your site, and overall it looks pretty good; however, there are some things you should do. For example, the schema on your webpage is not complete. I noticed you have stuff for organization, and website, but that's not enough. Please take a look at my webpages as a reference on how to implement this properly. I left my source code unminified, so you should be able to copy and paste my json code, and change it to yours.
Also, none of your pages are validating to W3C standards, please get this fixed as soon as possible. And, install an accessibility plugin, once again, look at my website as a reference to what the accessibility plugin looks like.
Finally, running GTmetrix, I noticed you were having problems with speed. I would install the "fastest cache premium" plugin and a CDN (content delivery network) if you have not done so already. Make sure these two are configured properly.
Try those suggestions and let me know if you see an improvement.
How are things looking ing Goole Webmaster Tools? Do you see any errors, warnings, messages? etc..? Are all your pages indexed from your sitemap?
Thanks , I am sending the PMSure, I'll take a look.
