How to get analytics of domain-level redirect?

I have a funnel setup that goes to a domain which then redirects to my money site - the setup is flawless for my needs and what i'm doing, don't worry about that.

However I want to be able to analyze the traffic and where it's coming from. Currently I have a permanent redirect in place and some cheap web hosting (used primarily for domain email)

Is there any way to get traffic and ref details from cpanel or similar level access? Or would I need to setup a redirect with an analytics plugin? Has anyone done something similar?

Yes, but that would require interaction with the web server. Wouldn't that slow it down drastically?
