How can I get a domain name for under $1?

If you have several credit cards you can create multiple accounts on godaddy and get a bunch of $1 domains although renewals are very expensive there. I guess it's not bad for testing a site for 1 year before the renewal comes.

ok most domains, godaddy too not are for $1 sale first year, you will find more, biz, info, com domains here with first year promo sale.

but not .co, .news, .blog, .today....maybe here and there for $3-5 first year.

I wonder I can have in my country second godaddy account with my debitcard ro get cheap promo domains $1-3 ?

GoDaddy has an offer for your first domain for under 1$. Look it up.
As I wrote above, my screenshot, you see I create new account as first consumer on godaddy india.
Then got a 0.99 india promo code - add domain and promo code in the checkout page- promo code accepted,
But godaddy not reduced the price for 1 year domain, nope it shows the original price + aded more fees to it.

I tried it with an uk account as first consumer and with an india account- no luck to get discount on an valid promo code.

Look here I make a test today again on godaddy uk site as first customer to see the price of a .co domain.
Here I use blabbzy not my real domain idea you know GD stealing your doman ideas when you not buy it now!

First screenshot they promise me the .co domain cost 0.01 for two years subscription, I choose 1 year , without any extra services (extra domain protection or ms 365 emal) then see my second screenshot it shows the checkout page- price is listed with $11,99 ! whammmmm !

Please do this simple math: 0.01 x12 months = $1,20 and not $11,99 !
When you click on continue on the checkout page Goscumdaddy adding additional ICANN fees ......

Whole criminal scam is that what they are doing; offer a domain for 0.01 first year but it costs $11,99
instead of $1,99 !

Stay miles away from them guys !

you can check out some domain registrars such as Godaddy or namecheap periodically offer promotoinal codes that allow you to register domain for heavily discounted price

Godaddy the biggest scammer, showing you cheap domain prices for the first year, then when you have it in your basket to the order, then you will be shocked; GD adds additional costs + fees to the cheap domain and voila! you have to pay the 3x fold price.

Namecheap and Porkbun have cheap first year prices for some domain extensions for first time buyers.
The best is you use TLD listing tool type in your domain name and it shows you which extension is available with domain registrars and their actual big discount prices for first year buyers, I recommend this free tool.

Now I see that when I search for domain ideas on TLD list, when you want more like a emd domain and it has commercial intent word in it, the .com domain will cost more.

Example; build (yourkeyword)....
how(your keyword)....
info(yourkeyword)....

then TLD list showing you domain registrars with good discount domain prices at $2,98
but when your domain has a commercial intent word in int like:

get(yourkeyword)
buy(yourkeyword)
now(your keyword)
entrepreneur(your keyword) etc, etc, etc....

then the TLD list shows .com domain prices at $8.
Do you have the same experience?

Have a happy day !

I downloaded the first screenshot you posted and edited it highlighting some important information.

As you can see, the offer/coupon is ONLY applicable if you buy the domain for 2 years

But I learned at seo school not to brand with "The" and not to use that method! lol TBH I never thought of doing that, yet I see it a few times in expired domains for people spamming the idea, I just never put 2+2=10 together for an authority site, maybe next year...
pretty sure "the" in "the spruce" is the brand itself
kind of a oddity in branding itself
But then again, we have other huge companies that does the same like
The Guardian
The Atlantic
the onion
ETC

but within those same news sites
Choose the "drop" the "the" in their brand name for the domain site
for example
The Huffington Post

and there others who just abbreviate completely like The Wall Street Journal wsj.com

Don't think it really matters if it's on a branding standpoint, it was more towards "EMD & PMD" in the past i think
Probably would need to look deeper into this though for a more accurate analysis :p

I saw the post a few weeks ago, Namesilo offer that after applying the coupon code you can get a $1 domain

From black friday offers you can purchase little low price. wait 5,6 weeks if you can

yes you right, but the point is that $0.01 x 12 months is = $1.20.....

but ok I will now try this gofuckdaddy test again and order the domain for two years ,then will see what happen in the GD checkout page.....

I will post it here .....see you later.. that I bet GD will never give you this domain for $2.40....

Best I found to get really cheap domains are the TLD list, for first year and first buyers you get com domain between $1.70- $2.98.....

Porkbun has good cheap prices for .top, .site, extensions, no matter If you are a first buyer or not.

But based on my search, yes these new extensions are beautiful when you checking ser Pl results, you will see that .com domains are dominate....

and a new extension domain , same with .net domain, is not an alternative when your brand name idea is taken by another .com domain because google will drive the most of your same name new extension traffic to the .com domain site.......

So when wef google making new updates, never trust them.

here you can see again I make the gd test again.
On their uk site they offer now .com domain for 0.01 (in uk but here I use usa currency it's easier to explain...)

The first screenshot says; you are paying $39.95 today ....
But hold on forget math from the school ?

0.01 x12 months = $1.20
x 36 months= $ 3.60 price for the whole three years !

And not $39.95 in the cart page as gofuckscamdaddy is showing you !
But people today are not aware of that.....so sad......

Oh! does Gocricminaldaddy mean 0.01 per day? Then their math would make sense, but again when they claim in their offer first year = $0.01, for me that means I paying $0.01 for the whole year and nor per day or each month....

Can you see it ?

So here are the two screenshots I hope you can see it clearly. Stay away from such criminal scammers.

Please use the multi-quote function if possible, as it makes the threads flow much easier. How to multi-quote can be found here Newbie Guide

These you will not get for US$1. Those who tell you that you can get .com, .net, .org (TLDs) for US$1 are ignorant of the fact that it would be US$1 for the first year, ONLY IF you pay for 3 years, 5 years, etc and their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc would be the usual around US$8 or so yearly.
Nonetheless, you can get .cyou, .link, .store, .xyz, etc for US$ 1 per year, paying for even ONLY 1 year.
Unfortunately you were right about the .com/net/org TLDs couldn't found any of these for $1.

Just got a .com from godaddy for 99p (well 1.19 with tax)
Good for you !

If you have several credit cards you can create multiple accounts on godaddy and get a bunch of $1 domains although renewals are very expensive there. I guess it's not bad for testing a site for 1 year before the renewal comes.
Well that's what I wanted and accomplished. Tested few sites , now gonna renew only 2 out of 7.

godaddy or namecheap somethimes offer domain names for under $1 of different TLD like xyz and others for 1st year . you have to followuop their offers
