Hosting a blogger blog?

I'm in the process of creating a niche site through means of a blogger blog. I've got to the stage where I would like to buy my own domain and host the blog from there.

There's an option to buy a domain integrated into the Blogger user interface which looks very simple and attractive. However it says that "Domains are registered through a Google partner and cost $10 (USD) for one year." - does this mean that I will only have ownership of the domain for a year, or that $10 means they will only host my domain for one year, at which point I can just pay another $10 or host my domain elsewhere?

Is it best to register my domain through blogger and a Google partner or look for a domain elsewhere?

Another question: what is the legality of using brand-names in your domain name? For example would it be OK for me to register my domain name if it included the brand name of a medical product?

Never use trademarked brand, other wise they can seize your domain and in the point of law they have stronger position.

It will be not cute if you have working on a site until it is developed so well (bukan Smash lho ) and suddenly you receive an email telling about taking over your domain name... Disaster! Stay away from the very beginning unless you know what you are doing

But it is important that the domain name contains keywords? And sorry for being a noob but what did you mean by "bukan Smash lho"?

It is VERY important that your domain URL/page URLs contain the keywords that you're targeting, especially when you're just starting out. If the exact match isn't available in a .com/.org/.net, go with hxxp://www."keyword"info.com, or something to that effect. You can always use dashes, as well, but I'm not too sure how effective those are.

Google registers domains through eNom or GoDaddy when you purchase a custom one from blogger. Both of which will allow you to renew them every year. Basically it is not a 1 time deal, you can have the domain for as long as you pay for it. You can find them cheaper elsewhere though, but if your going for simplicity then that is your best bet.
