Google update again?!

Interesting, I see the same thing. For some heavy keywords in Sweden. I wrote about it in another post, one site even looks like it's made in the 90's. Moving gif pictures in the sidebar and all of that.

Are you seeing this in Google.com?

From position 1 to position 7 for a 6000 search/m KW on google.com
There was an update for sure
 
What I am seeing is that one of my sites has been 50% recovered from the medic update.

However, the bounce rate has been raised by around 30% and the amount of clicks per impression is lower. And it got even worse after this (or was it last weeks) update.

So Google decided not to tank the site, but instead of sending me traffic that wants my content - I assume they are sending the wrong people to my articles, resulting in high bounce rate.

Mystery continues..

On my biggest website traffic is going down very slowly day by day I've noticed.
 
My traffic & rankings had just improved in the last 2 weeks, this volatility in the google algorithm has made it much worse. All my keywords have dropped drastically eventhough I had built some quality links recently. It has just swooped off my work again. This is frustrating, but this makes me think in a different angle about the keywords or other ranking factors, I will be trying something new too.
 
I had a few sites in the health niche that were affected adversely by the last two update. A couple of the sites recovered somewhat but it still looks like an uphill climb
 
For 13th consecutive week traffic is declining. I've never seen such a continuous decline before. Every week more cuts into the traffic. Something has fundamentally changed with google it seems. I'm now curious for how much more time the traffic can decline and if it can reach zero? That would be really something.

2) Did you changes to your website lately, specially while the traffic was decreasing and if yes, what changes?

1) Were you outranked out the top 100 with strong keywords like me?
Yes, some of the keywords dropped out of top 100 completely and it doesn't look like they are coming back. Majority of strong keywords (on which I worked) fell from top1-5 to around 30-40 position.

2) Did you changes to your website lately, specially while the traffic was decreasing and if yes, what changes?
No changes done after August 1st. The only change I did was to add authorship to all pages, indicating my name as author. I also added "terms and conditions" page and improved "about us" with Social media links and contacts.

3) Were you tracking your ranking compulsively and if yes how?
I am tracking all results with proranktracker.com and I have 2 years of history.

4) What your niche is?
health.

5) What Link Building service you used?
I did not build any links since 1st of august (except 1 batch of links to one keyword 1 month ago to check whether links can move rank - no change in ranking unfortunately). Otherwise for normal linking I use a freelancer that does outreach for me, I also purchased some premium links on the marketplace.

Oh, health. I think your niche was the most punished one. I'm sorry man, same happened to me and doesnt seem to be better.
A recommendation, probably you already did, add footnotes with links to medical researches on the subjects you write about, mostly from google scholar and similar, and reindex.

My Site is in the Beauty-Niche (Nail Art) and got punished too. I was in the Top-5 for 3 years. Now i'm rushed to #121 :-(

A friend of mine had dinner with this guy. He was randomly in our town in FL. There are some really high quality restaurants here (wealthy city), and my friend happened to be eating that day at this one (was lunch).

Apparently, dude rolls up in a Rolls Royce Phantom and walks in like no big deal. They get to talking and he says he used to own some mega popular blackhat site (in addition to all his client sites, company site etc that got deindexed).

So my buddy goes to his house in a really rich area of FL (to talk business, this guy’s dad owned one of the biggest waste management companies in the USA before selling). He sends me pictures, dude is living in a massive mansion, just crazy stuff all around. Beautiful wife, living the life.

Anyways, the guy is full white-hat now from what I understand, and he owns a legit review site. His new site (last I checked) was decent but hadn’t gotten much traction yet.

Pretty cool stuff.
 
This is ridiculous. Depending on the time of the day it switches between normal (+- like before) rankings and some crazy alternative, that cant be real. Why? Because usually I am around #1-3 and in the alternate version I am more like #60-80 ranking with some old articles, or even media files. Mostly totally unrelated pages. The same for all my other competitors, they disappeared from the first page in that alternate version and they now are in pages 6-9 with some obscure content, media pages or random contact pages... And some of my PBN pages appear in TOP 10. What is going on? Its like this for the last week or so. Hope it will end soon. Sometimes it loads normal ranking and then 10 minutes later its crazy again.
 
I just found something interesting. Like the above poster, I have seen a couple of keywords where the whole page 1 has been wiped out.

When I checked one of the keywords now, the results are only 4 pages and at the bottom it says:

"In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 40 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included. "

I have never seen this before. Health sites are really getting kicked in the balls

Just now I was googling something for my youngest cousin and it was really basic - this is what came out as result:

Seems that google can't even connect basic concepts (smallest <-> largest) correctly to display correct result from scrapping other websites. So much about their cutting edge algo.

Sure, I realize that no algo can be perfect and that this is an out-of-average example, but still.


Anyone seen any recovery yet?
