Google update again?!

So heres my contribution.

Website has about 15 pages of good content, not thin. Not over-optimised, not keyword stuffed. Was ranking for about 40 decent KW's, a good website now a pile of crap.

Thanks Google for doing it to a decent site. Site is about 9 months old, decent backlinks.

I totally agree with that dropped websites are not punished in any way at all. The point is that these websites have lack of authority (it is not a sin, that only means that your pages are not eligible to be shown on the top for certain keywords in a certain niche).

The issue is What to do to rize your EAT?
I believe that huge guest posting is cruscial for EAT but it seems that its not enough any more.
Do any one have concrete ideas what to do?
 
This doesn't make a lot of sense.
What prevents a user searching for something medical to go to #5 ranked website and check that website out and take their advice on a specific matter (even though they lack EAT apparently)?
To me it would make sense to wipe out the websites that do not meet required EAT for giving medical information, not just degrades them for 2,3,4 or 5 positions down the SERPs. People that look for answers on particular health issue tend to read more than just 1 page when looking for an answer, meaning browsing to page #2 #3 #4 #5 etc, before deciding. It's like going to the doctor's. If it is a serious illness you always ask for 2nd or 3rd opinion even to make sure it's true. So what does this EAT actually do in this case?
I still believe the update is link-related. Specifically in YMYL niches.
 
How do i know if my site got penalized ? I have some rankings for long tails but main KWs are gone.
Will they come back ?

I think this is the problem as you quoted.

If it's penalized it will appear in search console. But as long there's no warning at search console and your URL still indexed (although your main KW is gone), then it's not penalized. A lot of people affected by this update, not just yours that missing ranks. Will they come back? No one knows about it precisely.
 
I'm getting the impression that this update makes your website more niche targeted. Rather ranking for a lot of keywords, seems like google is only allowing you to rank for a few keywords, and making the webpage more targeted on the subject matter. If this were the case, it basically makes room in the index for more niche websites, but fewer visits to each website, as not so many keywords the website will rank for.

I partially agree with you.Thing is E-A-T can be easily manipulated by every webmaster. Google knows it too. SO i don't think adding/ bragging experience, awards, etc will have any impact.

Google’s Gary Illyes explained when evaluating E-A-T, Google primarily looks at links and mentions from well-known sources.

My site dissapeared for the main keyword but its still there for few other long tail keywords...does this have to do with keyword overoptimization ?
 
Google Medic Update Complete But We Are Seeing New Search Fluctuations
 
Yesterday they also made something about their indexing bots. all of the indexing has stopped approximately for 2 hours. even site:google.com did not get any new indexes.
 
Google updates their algorithm daily, so they are daily winners and losers, just follow the basics and you will be fine.
 
I noticed a significant increase to my daily job website.

The only thing i did the last couple months was adding content and a lot of sharing to social media.

No link building at all.
 
One of my sites is affected google new update. some keywords ranking disappeared from the google search, also other keyword’s ranking has been dropped. Do you have any suggestion to gain the ranking again?

I don't think so.

Even when I compare my own sites I come to the same conclusion.

I have 3 sites in basically the same niche, two of them tanked - one received a boost in rankings and traffic. When comparing them:

The ones that tanked:
- Quality articles
- Much better link profile
- A fair deal of social media presence
- Lower bounce rate
- 100% faster and easier navigation
- Younger sites (1 and 2 years younger than the one that ranked)

The one that got boosted
- Poor articles in every kind of way
- Fewer links and of low quality
- No social presence
- High bounce rate
- Very slow loading speed
- Really ugly and outdated theme (it doesn't even have the latest version of the theme)
- Older than the other two

I see no reason for the good sites tanking and the bad one ranking, other than the domain age. I'm pretty sure they have introduced a big bonus for sites that has been online longer. On-page and off-page is horrible for the site that ranked and user experience, according to Analytics, seem to be much worse.

earlier you mentioned that you are focused on sweden market. are your rating changes based on only IP's from inside sweden or have you also checked your ranking based on IP's from US? if so, is the result same?
