Google has announced updates to its Google Ads policies concerning advertisements for cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets targeting the UK market. The new policy will come into effect on January 15, 2025.

According to the revised rules, advertisers intending to promote cryptocurrency exchanges and software wallets must register with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) before running ads on the platform.
Additionally, Google will allow advertisements for hardware wallets that store private keys for cryptocurrencies, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and other digital assets. However, wallet providers are prohibited from offering supplementary services such as buying, selling, or trading digital assets.
Advertisers must also comply with local laws in the regions where their ads are displayed.

Google has adjusted its cryptocurrency advertising policies several times in the past. In 2018, the company banned all such ads due to a surge in fraudulent schemes. By 2021, the restrictions were eased, allowing advertisements for regulated cryptocurrency exchanges and providers under specific conditions.
The new policy underscores the increasing regulatory focus on cryptocurrency advertising and efforts to combat fraudulent advertisements.

The fact that Google Ads is tightening regulations on cryptocurrency advertising in the United Kingdom (UK) proves the development and increased attention to the cryptocurrency market.
From the perspective of Soc Lua Agency - more than 10 years of experience in running Google Invoice ads, no matter how many regulations there are, cloaking is good. The cryptocurrency sector is always a high-profit sector, my clients spend a lot on Google Ads and still get very good results.
