Giving up US citizenship soon

I have met quite a few women from Bulgaria. Not sure if it was just a coincidence but they all were damn hot.

Hot chicks want citizenship though, they want to sucky sucky their way to America.

If you don't have your citizenship hot chick ain't messin with ya, you're just as good as any other Bulgarian.

Why would they need to marry an American citizen, when they can just go to Germany,UK,France with ease?

In all honesty to me this thread comes across as immature and spoiled, you don't like jury duty? Would you rather be somewhere with a dictator and be judged at one mans whims? You don't like taxation? Would you rather be somewhere without clean and safe drinking water, hot showers, medical care, medical research or civil war?

When you grow up to travelling age, you may find out that modern life exists outside your country. Brace yourself, clean water exists on places where taxes are low and jury duty inexistent.

There are many, many people on this very forum who would love to live in the US and you are throwing it all away for two stupid reasons I don't think you understand.

Not everyone person is on the same spot. A guy on a bad country certainly wants to go to the US or northern EU. That's an upgrade for him. Other guys are on different spots and have other issues to solve. Getting out is an upgrade for them.

Ah Syria. So much more appealing than the US but you can't leave the house without wearing a hat or the occasional rape and stoning.

My dad did business in Haiti and brought back some pics. Man that place is a shithole.

Haiti is half a world away from Syria.... :o

I never got the whole misinformation about the outside world trend, especially in 2015 when it can be debunked with a quick fact check.

I think the goal is to live in a country, pay due taxes without the feeling of being ripped off.
Now I do believe that when someone from BHW is seriously considering moving to another country, it means something.
We are not greedy bastards. We love making money and we know how we are making that money. We understand the way money is handled between businesses and corporations in most case. So it's quite easy to understand that one doesn't want to pay taxes that will in fact, just pay the debt/deficit our country has been in. That debt that will be paid to better money maker than us.
So yes we have the feeling of being ripped off because the money won't come back to the population nor public services but to some higher corporation/(insert your conspiracy)/bank.

There is, thanks god, countries that provide high quality of life: nice weather, enjoyable food, some culture/architecture, nice women. But it's rare and comes with a price.

Anyway, I understand how he wants to give up on his nation. I have been living in Los Angeles for a year, and beside all the money there is to made, the city is really fucked up. The food is gross, the tax is ridiculously high, the pollution is unbearable to me, and people are really not nice. I have been in a village in deep France for 8 months now and it feels great. Good food, no pollution, and the few old people living around are lovely. But I'm moving anyway, because of the tax, because i'm being ripped off too.

I want to be able to say that I'm proud of where my taxes go but it's not the case. So I'm making my plan to move. In 2 weeks i'll settle in Valencia, Spain for a few months and see how it goes.
We have the BEST advantage on the world : We make money with a computer and an internet connection. So unless you're living the best life ever, have a family, or a really good excuse, I don't see any reason whhy you should not move around the world, discover new cultures and make money at the same time.

I have to say 2 more things that I strongly believe in.

1) Jury duty is a privilege that any real American should be proud of. I sure as hell wouldn't want to live in a society where 1 man decides my faith.

2) You should live the majority of your life where ever you plan on being buried.

As Mark Twain wrote, "thine tree that blows and scoots, is thy tree without no roots".

And no, Mark Twain didn't actually write that. But he definitely might have said it to himself one day and that's all that matters.

Is that possibly the shortest post you've ever written? :p

People here defend the US too much and compare the rest of the world with war torn countries. There are many developing countries that are good enough. Say Bosnia, internet connection is decent, I mean you can download a DIVX torrent movie for like 2 hours, and it's stable (plus no one cares if you download pirated stuff), power grid outage happens like 3-4 times a year for like 8 hours.. so I am assuming that's just a regular maintenance thing.. except that people are bad at english, many are better at German or Turkish language, and taxes are like 30% so I don't know if that's good enough for you, you get free health care, free dental care, social security and it's quite calm actually.. And you can drink water from a pipe or go to springs where you can bring bottles and always have some fresh water ready, and it's free.

Now Bosnia is still a shitty country for several reasons, for example Croatia is much more developed, better economics, but the point it is that there ARE countries that are worth giving a try.

Hey OP I live in Bulgaria. TBH Im pretty amazed that an American would consider moving to Bulgaria - 7-8 years ago young people's dream here was to emigrate to the US because the situation here was shitty - unemployment and low life standard was the main reason. But things have changed now a lot. Both here and in the US. Ive been to the US for 1 summer and know how life is there. It's deffinately not the country of the free imho. With so many rules that everybody follows like a robot (just my opinion again) . So yeah right now I personally would prefer Bulgaria too. People here hate the rules and noone is following them lol. Its like an anarchy compared to the US. But the system is working.. mostly .. w/o succeeding in opressing the people too much. In general - if you have enough money BG is a pretty nice place to live. Im talking 1000$/mo will get you a normal standard and everything you need in the capital. Also lots of western companies are outsorcing here. IT is getting bigger every year. All the major companies have offices in Sofia - HP, IBM, Microsoft, etc. So lots of foreginers from UK, Netherlands, etc. And in other smaller cities you'll be living like a king with 1k/mo . Also the nature is awesome - google some pictures. Nice beaches, nice mountains. And hot girls too. IDK about the document you mentioned in your first post but I can check around . just pm me.

Jury duty is a random letter Americans get maybe 3-4 times throughout their entire lives. It's like a casual summons to appear in court. You go in through a bit of screening and can get out of it very easily. All you have to say is, "one of my family members served time and I'm prejudice against the system". Then they'll let you go.

But if you choose to be a juror, you have to sit in trial with 11 other jurors, watch the defense and prosecution present their case then decide whether a person is guilty of a crime. Sometimes you even get to sentence them.

Because I was convicted of a felony, I will never be eligible for jury duty. And that's something I regret. Because I'd LOVE to sit on a jury (I'd do it for free). I believe people have a RIGHT to be prejudice against the system. I think the ONLY people who should sit on jurys are ex-cons. They call it a "jury of your peers" but these people have never spent a minute in jail and have no idea what they're really doing to peoples lives. So I agree with OP in the respect that jury duty is corrupt. I just don't agree with his reasoning. That should give him MORE REASON to wanna sit as a juror. To go into that room, deliberate, and tell his fellow jurors, "this case is corrupt, we were showed propaganda from day 1 and I vote to acquit".

Unfortunately, it's usually stupid jurors who are voted in. Then Americans bitch and complain about private prisons making millions of crime, too many people being locked up too long for petty crimes... then these same people get letters for jury duty and completely turn their back to the problem.

That's US Criminal Justice 101.

If you have any believes that won't allow you to only look at the evidence you have to mention it or they will get you for perjury, they only want people that are only going to look at the evidence. From what I was reading judges in some places have dismissed entire groups of potential jurors after one person brought up(due to the way it was asked and they went back and forth with the DA) jury nullification because the jury may be tainted.

Like "Chees" I'm also from Bulgaria. Currently I study and Germany and the only thing I miss is the great nature because I'm a mountain biker and here in Berlin I can't do sh*t with my DH bike) What I do NOT miss:
-People behavior in Bulgaria.
-All sad faces in the subway when I go back from school.
-The so called bulgarian "villagers" not for the place they come but for attitude they possess. They mainly are uneducated egoists that care only for trivial things like what car do they drive how expensive their clothes look and what people talk about them.
-All of my bulgarian so called "friends" smoke, do drugs, listen to the awful music called "chalga", everything they say ends with a swearing word. They don't think about their future ... the only think in their mind is fu***ng minors, going to bulgarian chalga clubs https://youtu.be/KafdPmeLQAU?t=1m12s earn money selling drugs etc.
- gypsy problem

From my point of view Bulgaria is a great place to live when you have established your income sources, buy a big house away from the big city -> live like a king. ( I was born in Sofia / the capital of Bulgaria / maybe that's the reason why I think like this. Mostly of the people who live in bulgarian provinces, decide to move to Sofia seeking for a better life/job etc.

Btw. check this out http://www.culture-shock.me/country/BG :D A lot of funny stories here "WHYYY WHYYY BULGARIAN PEOPLE PUT KETCHUP ON THEIR PIZZA" :D

Love this one:

My name is Aly Essam from Egypt Cairo.I am living now in Bulgaria. The culture shock for me here was related to traffic light system. As here in Bulgaria you have to cross the street from certain points,You have to wait for the traffic light to be green. which completely opposite to Egypt we can cross the street from any where doesn't matter the traffic light is red or green and That's why i was so confused crossing the streets in Sofia.

Were I live, we know perfectly well what the traffic lights and the marked crossings are for but padestrians cross wherever/whenever just because "ain't nobody got time fo' dat" :o

So let me get this clear.... There is a way to became state less???????????
