Dear BHW Member,

i wanna ask a question ... it's still possible get indexed by search engine using duplicate content in our blog / web ?

if our optimization "link building etc..." in our blog is much better than blog which we copied their content.

its possible the duplicate content get indexed ?

if theres possibility, tell me.

ID,

In many cases, Google still indexes pages that may be duplicated however it may not serve them in search results if it already has a copy of the page in its index. Pages that are older than another page that is a duplicate or that have more backlinks or in general appear to be more reputable will be served over other duplicates. However they also do not index pages because they are seen as duplicates.

More about that here,

If your serious about seo, and really want to compete against somebody who is also serious about seo than your going to want to compete with original content

I would never consider copied content for my blogs. Though it looks good for an experiment, but in the long run it isn't good to rely on copied content. There have been rare instances wherein websites with copied content have been indexed, but their life is small and this method is highly unreliable and sheer waste of time. I'd rather stick with unique and quality content.

Not that I recommend it, but the answer to your question is: all the time.

Have a syndicated news site. Pure duplicate content. Focus on quantity. Lofs of them. 1,000 uniques per day.

A few months ago topped 2,000 uniques per day.

But the traffic is scattered and not targeted.

If you want to build an affiliate site, no way you can get good traffic with duplicate content but it does work for indexing and ranking if you know what you're doing.

Did you have full text copy duplicate of news articles, or did you only duplicate the first 200 words with a [read more] link at the bottom?

Make sure you link back to the original post or it could have a detrimental effect.

what do you mean by detrimental effect ? i didnt get it..

as far as duplicate contents are concern, its just a myth, dont worry about it, i have pulled content from yahoo answer and my site is beating yahoo answer itself, so if you are not spinning or changing content, then i can assure you it works, so go ahead and use it, apart from this, i do build amazon and share a sale stores, which pull data from datafeed, my sites still rank and i m getting sales too...so again syndicated contents are working for me.
I cant speak for others but its working for me since long time and its profitable too.

Using content that has been published already in a responsible way as I'm sure your doing does work well. Its when one does not give proper credit like a link back to the original post that you could have trouble ranking. This is just my experience.

What if you purchased a template theme from someone and your home page is almost identical to the rest of the sites but your other content is 100% original?
