    Hello,

I've been a quiet reader of this forum since a couple of months and loved to read the different journeys you already posted. Because of that, I decided to post my little starter journey as well.

I want to scale my new (first) website (blog) to 1000$ a month with Adsense & maybe amazon affiliate.

    My Background:

I've never done a website/Seo/AdSense before, so I'm a complete beginner. Since 3 years I'm totally into Social Media (Instagram). I have built several Accounts to 1M+ Followers. This year I sold my biggest IG Account (2.2M Followers) to a huge Puphlising company. Now I still have my 1.4Million backup account, which could be helpful in this journey.
On my "day job" I consult companies in social media and manage one of them.

    My Goals:

    • 1k/month "nearly passive" income from the website (build an asset)
    • learn a lot in Seo and UX
    • get to know this community and network

    What I have done:

    • My website is live for 8 months (had a nearly 5-month break to work on other projects)
    • I had 24.034 Visitors and 33.003 Pageviews in July and earned 119€ with Adsense
    • 99% of the traffic comes from Social Media (85% Pinterest)
    • Built a Pinterest Page for this Website (66k Followers - 2M impressions per day)

I will probably update this journey every Sunday with a weekly recap and with new goals for the next week. I hope I can learn a lot from you and I'm very excited to start this journey with you.

Thank you. Nothing special about my Pinterest. I'm using only 1 account and pin around 5-10 Pins a day. Some of my pins went super-viral (16M views & 300k repins) but it was, in my opinion, a lucky shot. I'm relatively new to Pinterest as well.
    For every blog post,
I create around 3-5 pins and post them one by one in a week. For the other pins, I just upload quality content from other users.

I started to use Pinterest actively 5 months ago, so I'm not an expert by myself. But I can give some general advice for Social Media.
Content is King, Consistency is God!
For example, I never missed a day of posting 3x-5x a day on my Instagrams since I started. At some point, the algorithms notice you and your content will get shared to a wider audience. If you stop for even some days, because you got ill or something else, the momentum could be gone. So you have to grind every day and get the content out to the people. I remember doctors called me crazy because I tried (totally drugged from the surgery) to post on Instagram :D

Impressive Pinterest following! Was it your intention to focus solely on Pinterest or was gaining traction a little easier on that particular platform?

Best of luck on your journey!

Thank you! No, it wasn't my intention. My focus was on Seo and around 25% social media. But when I started, Seo seems easier than it actually is. My daily stats are 10 clicks via google and 1000 with pinterest :D In this journey I want to focus more on Seo and reach the 50%/50% Traffic until 03/2020.

    Hi,
you said: for every blog post 3-5 pins. What is the content of these pins?
Short tips, copy paste from blog post or something?

Mostly just a fitting picture with the title in it. I use picmonkey to edit those pins.

So if you wrote an article about "productivity", I would create 3 different pins with the text "5 tips to be more productive" "Learn to be more productive" "Do you want to know how to be more productive?" and post one on monday morning, one on wednesday night and one one saturday evening.
