I would really appreciate your opinion on my SEO plan

. I'm also trying to rank with Web 2.0s. I just started a new site, let's call it mysite.com.
I posted 7 manually written articles, 600-800 words each. My keywords have 1k-15k searches.
Now, for off-site SEO, my plan is this:
First I will make 8 web 2.0s (blogs, pdf, youtube..) with manual unique content (4 500-word articles per blog). These first 8 will have
generic keywords for anchor text, like mysite.com, click here, etc.
Once those 8 are up, I have a diverse backlink profile. Then I will add one web 2.0 withkeyword1 as anchor text. Then another generic 2.0 with mysite.com as anchor. Then another 2.0 for keyword2. And so on. I'll repeat this until I rank.
How does it sound? Do you think it will be effective, or am I being too cautious? Are 4 articles per blog too much? What is an effective way to build my next tier? (I have already sent a few wikis and blog posts at my first tier1s)
