I think OP likes to read Source Wave :) Don't get me wrong, there is nothing bad in that

I dont track it yet. Will do after ranking in top 10. I depends what niche you are in. For example #3 brings ~ 50 000 uniques in the niche with 200 000 searches. In my blog I mentioned about Cornell University study about clicks distribution.

Never heard of it before. It's a bit too "Guru" for me if you are talking about Alex Cass and Becker :)

Yeah, it's Becker, I like his videos and laid back approach. Your journey reminded me of some of his latest methods, that's why I thought you're reading it. By the way, I am not on his Email list, but whenever I need a refreshement I jump to his blog to see if he "discovered" something new and exciting (most of it reminds of some crappy WSO but he makes it look groundbraking)
His blog is one of the rare blogs I actualy like to read...ViperChill as well and DejanSEO blog is not bad at all.

Maybe I heard wrong, but weren't EMD's suppose to be "bad" now?

Nope, that's just to scare noobs away. Louse, crappy sites are "bad", sites with 1000+ words articles, with authority tone are never bad

I read both Viperchill and DejanSEO. I like Dan Petrovic Style.

I have been doing a similar system of late, emd with hyphens, no real mention of the keyword in the content, just similar phrases.

Added to google webmaster toools, 1 or 2 edu links, boom.

Up at spot 4 for some easy pickings. Hardly any content on the site.

I have ordered a .co emd today and planning to follow your thread and do similar thing (don't worry, won't try to hijack thread:)).

Please keep this thread going:)

No problem mate go for it :)

The whole EMD is good/bad thing has been going on for a while. I've got an EMD that's about 6 months old sitting at #2 for a 40K exact search. This was a score I found at auction that someone let expire. We're talking a $1000 domain that I got for $20 because some idiot was squatting on it and must have forgot. The site has 6 pages of quality rewritten content that I found on other high ranking sites and had rewritten. I figured if it was good for them to rank with might as well rewrite it and do the same.

I think it really just comes down to quality. If people are coming to your site, staying there, and sharing it you really don't have much too worry about. Well that and having some high quality links to boost you up and get it started.

On the flipside I have an old EMD that was ranking fairly well and I just got a notice from adsense saying my site has been booted. This is an old MFA site that has gone from high rankings to penalized to back to ranking again. Low searches but it would generally make about $70-150 a month when on the first page.

As long as you have some decent quality content on the site and strong links you can rank it regardless if it's an EMD or not.

Google cached my new domain today. Still #14. 10 manual relevant blog comments. 5500 words of text on the website.

-Jericho- you are absolutely right. I just think this specific TLD gives additional boost. Good visitors metrics are extremely important.
