/DROPSHIPPING/ - Journey to $1000

Hello friends...

I'm working on a dropshipping store. Niche is fashion.
Figured keeping a journal of my progress on here would be a good way to introduce myself to the BHW community and also give me a sounding board for various frustrations. Maybe
I can even help out some of the people who are struggling with problems I've solved already.

About Me
I'm infatuated with graphic design (and halfway decent at it). I've got a background in digital media and have been doing misc black hat stuff for about 20 years. I made a few hundred a month doing adult with a method that involved signups for age verification (that was a very long time ago) Spent six months last year scalping BTC and made about $300 day. This is my first foray into marketing and I'm optimistic.

It's been a frustrating road because my budget is practically non-existent and I'm learning
a lot of this shit in realtime. Wordpress in particular has been pretty challenging. Looked into a ton of themes and settled on oceanwp. I've spent the past month lurking here and the past week building assets and ads, setting up wordpress/woo and making accounts.

I strongly recommend that anyone that anyone reading this considering doing dropshipping buy a preconfigured shop theme because setting it up has been a real bitch but now I've got a custom, clean looking site that I'm rather proud of. Worth the effort. But yeah, that took a day or two. Really looking forward to NOT designing a web site for a little while. Gonna spend the rest of the day making ads and other site assets in photoshop. I could really use a link to a good torrent site (maybe an invite, eh?) or repo for marketing templates and always on a hunt for quality fonts. Hopefully soon I can actually just go out and buy that shit.

6/8 - Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Been working nonstop. Wasn't planning on posting here again til I started the marketing phase but there are more complications involved with putting up a _decent_ ds site than I had anticipated. Let's see.... I've spent most of the last few days stocking the store with products. I've figured out how to automate some of the grunt work (removing watermarks from ali images) but not all of it so yeah.. 100 products is a lot to edit and write copy for.

"Try a single product store on your first try so you won't get overwhelmed"... "nah.. fuck that" lol.

Tightening up the security on my site. I have a friend who's better with that shit who'll pen test it for me in exchange for making over his shitty blog.
Redid the fonts on the site. Found a really nice combination. Make some ads and promo images for landing page link to various product catergories.

I'll spend the rest of the day <ugh> cleaning up and organizing messy images and directory structure on my home box and the server.
Hopefully one of these days I'll figure out how to be organized in realtime so I won't have to go back periodically and do it.
If I have time after that's over I'll work on populating the social media accounts I've made with images of products, work some more on ads, and maybe fire up jarvee and do some f/u to build the accounts on fb and insta.

o yeah... Found two killer new microniches.
I want to make separate sites for them but this first site is a doozy and I want to finish it and get it up, get some money rolling in before I jump on the other two even though they look a lot more profitable. Done the research well and the associated keywords are relatively unprotected. Insane amount of search activity as well. good stuff.

AliExpress for now. Using ezusy to manage automation. Their product is kinda glitchy and their support sucks so I'm a little concerned about using them but you can't beat the price.
I think I'm gonna regret this decision down the road but it _seems_ to work ok...
