Im curious once again. In the past years everyone seems to have atleast 1 social media account whether it be Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc. - On several articles and Youtube Videos you always hear about how social media is bad for you, how wrongfully it portraits the world, fake people that are constantly posting how good their life is, when it's actually crap.

To this day, i am on social media for about 8 to 9 years. Today was the first time i started to contemplate to delete all the social media apps on my phone (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat). But before i do it, i thought to myself. Why not ask the good old BHW about this. I think this is a good variety to all the relationship threads that we get on the weekend :)

So here are my questions:
  • Are you still using social media actively (Every day, every other day)?
  • If you decided to delete all social media apps/profiles. Why did you do it?
  • Have you noticed a difference after deleting your social media profiles?
  • Did you experience more focus (for IM, real life things, etc) after deleting your social media profiles?

Let me know guys. I am curious about your opinions!

Was heavily into Social media sites way back in 2010-2011 and still have my accounts active.

Using Whatsapp but that too is limited

I use social media for selling only being a spectator does not make me money. Social media is problem if you are the consumer. Only watch the news to look for niches to profit from.Be the wolf not the sheeple that is what BHW is about.Stop listening to gurutards.

I removed all of them a long time ago, except for buying ads lol. Complete waste of time, never understood why you'd want to spend hours every day on that crap. And yes, definitely better focus on stuff that actually matters in life, like making money with IM haha.

I like that video, wasn't it something like a 400% rise in suicide attempts among women after Instagram became popular? :anyway:

Once in a while, if you need to post something in groups or adding business groups and pages to my blogs. I haven't deleted any of my profiles, I never got a problem of overusing them like some people who completely got obsessed with social profiles. You will definitely have more productive time when you use less social platforms

Deleted them all recently. Deactivated all my accounts. It's just not what it was.

Yes, I am using Facebook and messenger, Whatsapp, Insta, for keeping in touch with my family, friends and relatives who are spread out in different parts of world.
and Linkedin for professional contacts.
My thoughts are everything is mix of good and bad, although it is difficult but then we have to segregate both of them.

Of course. Despite all bullshit you heard about social medias - FB is indeed the best way to keep up with your family and friends scattered across the globe, Twitter is the best way to follow people who are interesting to you, and all of them are usable if you are into IM as you can buy/sell plenty of services there. So yeah, my profiles are active.

I just use messaging features of social media, so no mindless scrolling of infinite feeds.

Never really liked them for personal use.

I had one account back then when this whole social network thing started out. The network was called iWiW, it was invite only. It was founded in 2002, 2 years before Facebook or MySpace, practically one of the first social networks ever. That one i actively used in the beginning. It was a network for Hungarians, at some point it had as many users, as many people had internet connection in the country, so practically everyone was on it.

I still have my personal Twitter account though with 115k followers, but its dormant and i never really used it for anything other than follow/unfollow to build it up.

I have a Facebook account with no friends or posts or anything. It's handy, because you can often login to sites with FB, without the need to register with an email address. So it turns out, Facebook can be useful after all. :)

I'd say, go ahead, free yourself (maybe have a blank FB). Just make sure that you can still keep in touch with the people you really care about, but that can be done via chat applications (this is what i do) or even by phone.

What about WT social?

I use it to find clients, especially Facebook. Most people use it to create envy or to envy other's life and that harm them.

I only have Snapchat and Facebook messenger (I do not use actual Facebook).

facebook and youtube every day and twitter once in a week

facebook ban one of my account a long time ago

The last two question did not belong to me because I never deleted any of my social profiles because I am using those for business.

I only have Instagram, but not that much active as before. I was so addicted to social media, Facebook especially from 2008 to 2014. Instagram was never so special to me, even though I was posting often from 2016-2018.

But Facebook was golden in around 2010. These were the days when it was the best. I liked it a lot.

IG has adapted powerful algos to keep users engaged. I love it though!

Its a slippery slope before you end up in a cave on the Austrian Border with no electricity or running water, be careful.

I only have account on Twitter but i barely use it, not too much activity on my side.
