I’m also interested in this question. I started getting ranked in Google faster through backlinks than through normal Google ranking. I mean, Google hadn’t checked and indexed my site in the search results yet, but it was already showing me through backlinks. That’s why I’m curious about this too.

If this is a new site, ads can help you validate fast. if this is a long term asset, you still want authority signals, not necessarily aggressive backlink campaigns.
