Have you ever ran a large number of websites in similar or same niches? If so, do you generally run them on the same Google Analytics and Webmaster accounts, or different accounts for each site?

I'm thinking the smarter and safer route is the later...

Thoughts?

I have 100's of sub domains and had to do each separately... on the same main google account of course. It was a huge pain in the ash.

I imagine it was! I am seriously considering the same thing, and maybe even different Google accounts as well, since this is for a few hundred domain names.

I'm really wondering if it's worth it though. I know that Google hates seeing a monopoly within a niche... especially when those particular sites are all high-ranking.

My recommendation would be to skip Google Analytics altogether. There are way too many possible drawbacks that people have experienced over time. There are several competitors just as good like GetClicky.

However, if you have to use GA, definitely go for different account per site.

Thanks Ultra Link - much appreciated! That sounds like the smartest thing. There are so many sites.. keeping track of such a mass of accounts would be insane.
