Did your KWs drop drastically on 16th/17th July? New Google Update?

This is crazy; it's either I didn't escape the May Core update or Google is running mad.

I experienced series of drop yesterday, my traffic (for this journey) halved by 95%-- LOL

there are about 6 -9 other similar screenshots.

I miss the times when they would just release a core update once in a while you knew what they were targeting/fixing.

Now it is just so random and absolutely intransparent. I mean, the moment we figured out what the last update targeted, they already released a new one (of course without any announcement whatsoever).

Since late June upto mid July(now) there's been one form of changes in the SERP. Three different sites I monitor in the same niche experienced this. While some have stagnated others are still dancing.

I just looked at some of my client's websites and they seem to be fine. Maybe I need to wait for 2 to 3 days and check again

It looks like there was an update within the last week or so. I believe this has been 3 months in a row where we’ve gotten some update to the SERPs: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-search-ranking-algorithm-update-on-july-10th-33727.html

Yep, my main site traffic is down by 70%, however, my two small sites are normal.

For me, it's mixed but I have sites in very different niches.

In terms of traffic:

2 down: 35% and 68%

3 up: 130%, 10% and 20%

They want us to buy ads. Bur smart people can still do SEO which is less affected by these frequent updates.

Have anyone who lost traffic last week seen any improvements yet? We just recovered fully yesterday. I'm still wondering if it was one of our technical fixes that helped, or was it Google that updated its algorithm.

I lost all my traffic on Sunday, literally 95% of my KWs were LOST.

Did you do anything to recover? Did you guys keep posting? What technical fixes? Do you also use Rankmath?

ahh damn, should've kept quiet, everything dropped off again. We had a potential issue where Googlebot might not have seen all the internal links because of our US version differing from other world, so we started serving Googlebot with our global version once again, even though US version has been there for 3 months already.

There was definetly an update around this time. Many people reported change in rankings.

Hey, how are things on your end? My website recovered on Friday and is still up, so I hope it's now back to business for a longer period (not 24h like before).

I think your ranking drop was due to the technical errors on your site.
I am slowly gaining rank on lost kws, saw some boost on Friday too.

I can't wait for the European Commission decision regarding ranking factors transparency in G Search to take effect. I think it will be the end of G. Let's hope.
