So the ranking of my website is stable, however, the traffic has decreased a lot since 25th May, which is the day Google started rolling out the core update. My question is whether the decrease in traffic is somehow related to the core update or something else. The dates coincide but somehow it doesn't seem logical.

Please help out.

If ranking hasn't change, I presume your traffic volume should be related to low search for the terms you are targetting. This might be due to seasonal fluctuations, trends, etc.

There are already a couple of https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/google-update-may-27th-2022-what-i-have-noticed.1410861/ speculating on this May update. As yet it's all specualtion.

2 explanations:
1. Seasonal - the weather is nice now so more people go out and thus less searches, so you'd need to keep an eye on impressions.
2. Update - even though your rankings are the same, it could show your page to less people.

It seems too soon for you to start worrying that this is going to be a permanent decline.

Also, when you look at websites in your niche, you probably would notice that their Semrush profile shows a wide variety and traffic flows over time.

Well, it would be nice to assume that when you build a site and it starts attracting traffic, that traffic will only go one way in one direction.

That's not the reality.

That there are many different factors that can produce fluctuations.

If your traffic still hasn't fully recovered or gone on the upswing after three months, then you might want to post again on this forum and we could all brainstorm your possible options.

There was an update from Google at the same time so this might be the reason behind it.

I thought it could be the update, but my rankings were unaffected, only the traffic declined. I wanted to know if the update could be the reason, if so, then how?

I understand that there are going to be fluctuations, but the analytics show a very steep downwards slope. I am hoping that it will recover, and as you said, I'm going to keep working and see what happens in a month or so from now. If it keeps the similar trend as now or shows a further decline, then I have a huge problem on hand.

Less people searching for that keyword now?

yes, you got hit bye the update, if you lucky, your site can recover a few weeks after g update finished, if not, maybe it'll recover in the next update or even worst never recover.

even many kinds of sites such as super ultra white hat sites till now not even recover
