Creating FAKE avatar for your blog?

I was thinking if it is better to create a fake persona for you blog with fake pictures..etc

Would also like to know - i've seen some really good sites with gravatars.

If you choose the fake persona you can always go to thispersondoesnotexist and refresh until you find an acceptable candidate and if you need a lot of fake people you can write a simple page scraping tool that auto refreshes until you have the desired number of images.

The major pro to this is that you are not using real pictures of people which can be a little violating if they do not consent (even though they would likely never find out).

The cons are potential imperfections being generated and only having access to one picture of that "person"

If you have a good reason to hide your identity, by all means.

Keep in mind though, that does nothing for your personal brand and authority, unless you decide to somehow come out of the shadows later. It basically means that all that work is not attributed to you. If that is ok with you, or it is something that you actually want to achieve, then there you have it.

Pros and cons, evaluate for your own context.

It depends on the niche

If your niche is teaching dudes how to pick up chicks, it's probably a good idea to swap out your "persona" pictures to reflect the EXPERTISE you are trying to project

I think you could use an alias instead? and make your persona as mysterious as possible hahaha, so readers would be more intrigued and curious about you and your blog
