If you are seeing too many .webp or .webm files in your 'Crawled - currently not indexed' report in the Search Console, don't worry about that.

Since these are media files and not webpages, these files should not be ideally reported in 'Crawled - currently not indexed'. This is Google's inability or more accurately a bug in the Search Console that it still shows these files there.

I am sharing this because yesterday I received a message from someone whose SEO agency suggested they replace .webp files with .jpeg files to reduce their 'Crawled - currently not indexed' numbers. This was bad advice because WebP is a modern image format aimed at reducing the size of online images, developed by Google as a replacement for traditional image files like jpeg etc and as I said before, these files in 'Crawled - currently not indexed' are there because of the search console's bug and not because you did something wrong.

i've came across the same problem with one of the websites a while back,
it's not a "problem", especially with your website, it's google fault that they simply trying to crawl webp images as pages,
it wouldn't happen with typical/other images extensions as they would get crawled by the google image bot,

overall, it could be problematic for your website as it's going to waste the crawling budget,
even tho it's recommended by google and they're adressing the situation as "not a problem" or "not to worry about",
it would be better to optimize the images and use jpg, png or whatever format that fits your needs, especially if you have too many images
