Ahoy!
Let’s face the truth! We all know at least one fellow marketer who says, Web 2.0 link-building does not work. However, I’m not fascinated by a cat fight but come on bro. I mean, seriously?
I’ve seen many of the marketers fail and chitchat about Web 2.0s to people. But what disturbs me more is that people (mostly newbie marketers) tend to trust these purported legends(!). Clap clap!
However, I don’t see one single reason to believe such nonsense. Because the truth is, in fact, completely the opposite. Yes, Web 2.0 link building still works and you know what? They work pretty well- you can trust me on that.
But, there’s this ‘but’ in the middle of the boulevard. It is an open math. To make something work, you have to work by the book in the first place. And you my friend is the lucky guy eying here. Because I’m gonna write the whole book for you.
Web 2.0 Backlink Strategy – The Complete Guide
Let me start from the very basic question that comes to mind (definitely for the newbies): What exactly is a Web 2.0?
Well, it does sound like software running on its two-point O version but it’s something else. Let me just advance the question for a narrower guess, “What is Web 2.0 Sites all about?”
I know you’re close enough now.
Web 2.0s are websites built on high authority domains. These are simply free blogging sites that you can build on a subdomain of your choice on the TLD (Top Level Domain). You have the freedom to write and generate contents for your likes. Changing URLs, adding videos or images and the list goes long.
At this point, an example is obvious. I’m sure you have seen websites like “gardening.wordpress.com” or “cookingtips.blogspot.com” before. Well, these are two easy examples to apprehend the entire game.
So What Makes Web 2.0s Stand out Even in 2018?
First and foremost, it comes for free. Yet, it’s not the best part of my verdict. What makes web 2.0s unique from most other link-building strategies is; the fast-growing Page Authority. Just a few decent back-linking and boom!
This is all because of the parenting domain(s) you choose. Check the DA, PA of ‘wordpress.com’ and think yourself. Your web 2.0 can go for a PA 30+ if things are done right.
Now, this is what we marketers need, right? Web 2.0 links are exceptionally dominant for your niche site(s). You just need to make sure, the relevancy exists. Because Google is extremely obsessed with relevancy today.
You don’t have to pay hundreds of dollars for do-follow links anymore. Now outreach and no worshipping for guest posts. Not all of us have the lux for these pricey methods anyway. And above, you are the one in control. Edit, delete, change anchors on your own penchant! Pass as many links as you want, no one is stopping you.
But, my Amigos! Daydreaming fantasy isn’t gonna benefit you a thing. To go unstoppable, if have to start first, no? So let’s step in the accelerator and begin from the ground.
Web 2.0 Platforms That Work Smooth:
To be honest with you, I’d say these are the ones I can exhibit. I know, you can refer to tons of sites to start with. But better keep things simple. The more options you see, the more confused you are!
Lately and interestingly, I’ve seen some popular SEO experts(!) recently posted, “Tumblr doesn’t perform for Web 2.0 sites”. Say whaaat?
Warning! These are bullshit because ‘holy shit’ has the word ‘holy’ in it. You know fooling people with wrong information isn’t holy by any means. He he
. Stay 100 miles away from these gurus!
Yeah, Let’s Start with Real!
I personally love WordPress and Tumblr amongst all. So let me guide you step-by-step with a Wordpress web 2.0 page, okay?
First of all, you have to get started from wordpress.com and tell them your niche to the game on.
For example, let’s say I run a website on outdoor or sports niche. Exactly, I will go further clicking on the Sports/Recreation tag (It’s just an example; you don’t know the niches I work on).
You sure as heck don’t want to start with a portfolio or online store, right? Go right ahead with a blog, choose a domain name relevant to your keyword & bingo! Yes, start for free.
Behold, Pro Tip Coming On:
An EMD on your niche or keyword is more likely and valued for overall enactment. But at the same time, your URLs should look different. Why do you ask? Let me make it clean and clear(oh, it’s my favorite childhood shampoo) for a thorough understanding.
If all of your web 2.0s’ URLs contain the same pack of words, then it may fetch you some sad news from Google, at any given moment. I mean, who knows, right?
For a cycling website, the web 2.0s should be like; “cycling101.wordpress.com, runningonwheels.blogspot.com, paddlinghabit.blogger.com” and not “cycling.wordpress.com, cycling.blogger.com, cycling.weebly.com”
In a word, never keep you focus keyword in the URLs repeatedly. Think different and come up with variations that Google finds natural. Understand?
Before You Create Your web 2.0 Account – Like a Boss!
Whoa whoa! Slow down, homies. Time to work in an advanced manner. Read carefully!
Apparently, you’ll be creating a minimum of 5-10 web 2.0 sites, and all of these shouldn’t be made with the same email account. Somewhat, I strictly recommend you to walk out of the Google services, specifically Chrome browser and Gmail.
Use any of the browsers you have access to. It could be Firefox, Opera, Safari or even the good old internet explorer(got better with the updates though) but not google chrome. Clear?
Great! Don’t forget to create email accounts from dissimilar IP addresses as well. This creates web 2.0s that perform way better than the average – believe me, it is proven.
Besides, IP matters while Google indexing too.
Let me repeat the whole thing to remind you once again. Make sure you will use:
Now we are good!
Disclaimer: These are not mandatory, but it’s my very own methodology that made me go rich. Lol. Yes, you can giggle about it.
Put Some Real Content:
Here is the boring part! If my experience does not go wrong, then I am quite certain, the majority of the marketers lack energy and efforts at this point. Unfortunately, this is the most important part.
So, you have to make some posts for an up and running web 2.0 site. Three posts sound great for a start. Three pairs noises even better!
I have met people who love spinning around others’ content for the posts. This makes me sad, not a good practice at all. Whereas you can have unique content for only $5, why take the spun?
It is the general rule of thumb; avoid spun content and use original and unique ones instead. And FYI, copy contents can get you busted in no time.
But yet again, what if you are tight on budget! Well, in this particular case you’ll just have to write on your own or manage contents for free.
Talking about content lengths, there’s no to burden at all. Only a 500+ word count for each post will serve perfectly, but it has to be unique for sure. Make sure your content adds value and satisfies Google’s thirst since Google is much aware of content quality.
So What It Takes to Make Quality Content:
Nothing much. All you need to do is, to adhere to some basic formula. Keep things natural and let Google know, the content talks about a real story. Playing Grand-Theft-Typo in google’s hood isn’t cool. Penalty polices will get you busted in no time.
#1: Use Related Keywords:
Instead of stuffing your keyword forcefully (an offensive approach already), insert some LSIs for the keyword. After the recent RankBrain Update, Google can relate to topics that meet under the same umbrella.
It is like, if you have your niche site on Cycling, you can use related keywords like biking, cycling apparel, running vs cycling, and tips for cycling and so on in your content.
Google is sensible of what you are talking about. So, insert as much LSI you naturally can, along with your focus keyword. To get a list of related keywords out of your niche, switch to LSI Graph.
#2: Insert Multimedia
Use images and videos (if appropriate) in your posts with a decent variety of formats. Create stunning media files and optimize your web 2.0 pages properly. This will make them look interesting enough to hold the trust of both your traffic and Google.
Plus, Google tends to index pages comparatively faster if you post videos in your articles. So, don’t forget to add one. Social shares for web 2.0 pages can also bring good impressions. Such trick much wow!
#3: Make Outbound Links
Link out to some high authority websites, such as Wikipedia, HuffingtonPost etc. Your content needs to worth for ranks. Having information backed by reliable resources and outbound-links (to them) makes it lucrative enough to Google.
Sites you can link out to have a wider exposure depending on your post topic. Just be relevant!
Must-Have Pages for Web 2.0s:
About Us, Contact & Privacy Policy – these are the three pages I recommend for every web 2.0s you make. Google wants to be sure that your web 2.0’s is not just another scam or spamming sites with no one standing behind.
This is why you have to put some extra bit of care while creating the About Us and Contact page.
Privacy is a huge concern but, the Privacy Policy page is not. Lol. You can simply head to this site and have your own privacy policy made up. Copy whatever they give you, and Paste ‘em right on to your Privacy Policy page. You are done!
Use unique alias(es), profile image and ‘details’ for every About Us page and quote different email addresses in the contact pages.
Now what?
Your Web 2.0s are ready! Now comes the part where you get to know the web 2.0 linking strategy. Yeeeee! But before we sneak into that section, I’m giving you some elderly (I’m kidding) pieces of advice for free!
Web 2.0 Back-linking Tactic:
Finally what you have been waiting for! If you have gripped to all of what I have discussed earlier, BRAVO!
Your web 2.0s at this point are in an excellent state for getting links to your niche site. Although you come to be eligible for links soon as you publish the first 3-5 articles. Congratulations!
So there’s absolutely nothing left for me to drain your oomph anymore!
Just be mindful of the anchor texts whenever you set a link out to pass the juice.
For example: if your site is about “best walkie-talkies”, then anchors like “top walkie-talkies, cheap walkie-talkies, best handheld radios, best walkie-talkies, click here, check this out” will seem absolutely practical.
Note: Anchor text variation is an important issue for link-building, even while doing guiltless silo or internal linking. Don’t make a mess out of it.
After doing all this shit, you deserve a link from the first paragraph. Sure you will take it, won’t you?
Hey, Wait, One Last Question!
Yep, I know exactly what you are thinking. But I hate to answer this question as a rule. How many links you can take from a web 2.0 exclusively depends on your web 2.0 itself. The more content you have, the more trustworthy your web 2.0 becomes.
So the more you nurture a web 2.0, the more you can expect as goodies.
The SEO Adviser Signing Out:
That’s it, my chums! I’m not any self-proclaimed SEO guru to boast myself. I enjoy letting my fellow marketers know what has worked for me in my drawn-out affiliate marketing lifespan.
Remember, the whole Web 2.0 process is a gray hat technique and you have to try being as natural as you can. After all, Google the isn’t god to know our hidden intentions.
If I missed anything out of my subconscious mind, let me know in the comments section. I love to hear from your end, same as I delight in assisting...Kudos!
