Competitor is killing me with dirty tricks!

Help! Will this guy ever get penalized? my competitor has been hacking vulnerable CMS sites and placing thousands of links off page on some super high pr pages. He has 3 sites that basically sky rocketed to spots #1, 2, and 3 in our industry. Now I see he has around 20 more pages coming up from nowhere quickly! Why is this guy being so richly rewarded for this? He has held tightly to these 3 spots for 4 or 5 months now. if this continues he will crush everyone and the rest of us will have to close up shop. He is ranking like this for All desirable keywords in our niche.

Will this person ever get penalized for this? Or is this just not a Google priority? Just something that's really bothering me today!

Your competitor means business. My Black-hats off to him.

I don't have a problem with "snitching". It's false morality anyways. There is no honor among thieves. OP, you could scrape your competitor's backlinks and send emails to all the domain contacts with boilerplate warning that they've been hacked, sent with a copy of the corresponding backlink. I bet FatBoy or Tom Potts could whip that 'bot up in a couple of hours. You could also figure out a way to report the sites for "containing malware". And then you could also use the same methods as the competitor to rank your site. Which vulnerabilities are they using? Do the links appear to be automated or manual? Could the links be changed out for others?

Everyone here drawns their lines on moral arguments. It's about winning and not winning. Use whatever tools & methods you have available in order to achieve the results you want, to include "snitching". I report competitors as a matter of standard business practice. I also utilize whatever blackhat methods I can to achieve results with careful consideration of risk. Don't like my methods? Tough shit. You can go fuck yourself, for all I care. THAT is "blackhat".

I found a site one time from a spam post on CraigsList. It was a phishing page that was a secondary page on a site in Norway that sold frozen fish. From CL the link looked just like the CL login page, and I'm sure one the target entered that information the website server emailed that data somewhere else. The hacker was running his phishing on someone else's "legit" site. So (this was in the early days), being the well-intentioned do-gooder that I was, I sent the company an email warning them that their site had been hacked and it was being used for nefarious purposes.

Took this nOOb several weeks of wondering why those Scandahoovians didn't email me back thanking me for the warning, before I realized that a truly L33T haxor would have diverted the company emails also, durh. So, note to self: When I hack someone's site to use it for my illegal phishing operation, I need to make sure to take control of the company emails also. OP you actually have a really good learning opportunity here. You could keep this information to yourself, study the hell out of it and make more money applying it in earnest than you would ever lose to this competitor in this one single niche.

We don't see to much haxor talk here on pinkhatworld, yet it seems to me that haxoring for juicy backlinkage is where the opportunities are at. Particularly with the .gov's, the idiots. They hire one-shot wonders to bang-up some shoddy website that was ugly and obsolete in 1998, and never spend another dime on it. Maybe that's the new horizon right there; scanning ignored .gov's for security holes and then "fixing" them.

In my day "snitching" was called being a grass.

In essence, it meant not talking to the police.
You dealt with problems without involving the law.
To an extent this moral code is no longer relevant unless you are an old school gangster who likes to reminisce about the good old days.
It is good to have principles but they mean jack shit if other people don't share the same ethics.

I could go on but will save it for another day but I would like to say that GOOGLE IS NOT THE FUCKING INTERNET POLICE!

This is a BlackHat Fourm, a BlackHat SEO Forum.
I would never do Negative SEO against people who are straight and running a legitimate business, I would always try to run better sites and use what Black Hat techniques I could to be more successful.

BUT if some dodgy c@nt is affecting my income because they are going beyond BlackHat SEO and using illegal practices that give them an unfair advantage then quite frankly I couldn't give a flying fuck about any moral codes and I would fuck them over at the first opportunity.

This could be a great discussion but I am too tired for the debate. Will be back later.

True, a flying lol to all the guys who call for 'growing ballz' and respecting 1337 h4xx0r scriptkiddies taking over the serps (for their recklessness, for them being 'alpha') and then demanding to keep to the rule of 'no snitching'.
Either rules or no rules. What is this? 'I am allowed to break all of your rules, but you aren't allowed to break my rule?' Haha.
And btw, this is not about being 'alpha' and showing who's the strongest. You decide, in what kind of world you want to live in. Some folks in here obviously like the idea of the internet being the stinkin' backyard at the docks, where you can't leave the car without being rape-robbed.
If people were just able think a little ahead.

What on earth are you talking about? The OP is bitching because the guy outdone him in ranking not that he hacked HIS site? Your case is different and tough luck to you if you don't know how to protect your own servers! The OPs case is he can't beat the guy so comes here crying then another idiot gives him the sound advice "snitch to google" anyone here that says SNITCH TO GOOGLE can go fuck themselves in my opinion..
When I see hacks of WP pages in my country going on, I contact the owner, even by telephone. It's not right to steal your car isn't it? And it's not right to fuck with other peoples work or their businesses. They try to feed the kids. As I try.
And about server security. The sooner you realize, there's no security, the better for you. (cpanel HQ was hacked and infected customers).

"In my day" snitching is snitching to an "authority" it doesn't have to be the police and I certainly am not an "old school gangster" we never really had "the crays" n such here in Ireland heh, anyway the authority in question here is the one authority that the majority of us are fighting or trying to game daily you know "Google" because this is an SEO forum right? It annoys the hell out of me that someone on a BH SEO forum can shout "snitch to Google" fuck that bullshit.

Agree with you totally on the second part though and I did hint at the OP about going down that route and I agree with it completely in this scenario, fight fire with fire but no need to be a little weasel snitch. To each their own, I live by a different set of rules than some of you it seems.

Again your talking about yourself and wtf is a "flying lol"? get back on topic the OP is bitching about being beatin in the SERPs, he claims its through hacked or exploited sites but no one is actually sure for certain are they? Then some genius on a BH SEO forum proclaims lets "snitch to Google", fuck that there is more than one way to skin a cat rather than sinking to snitching.

As I said above to each their own eh, I'm done replying here as this will likely go round in circles and its time to get back to work! I live by a different set of morals than some of you it seems, but deffinite eye opener seeing some of the reactions and will remind me never to work with some individuals here.

Meh - you wouldn't enjoy your set of morals if it were put against you. Don't you see that? Anyway, you didn't seem to read my post. Thanks for the talk.
If a longterm project of mine would be overrun by criminals who hack into other people cms to get better rankings, guess what I would do? No, unlike others, I wouldn't participate in a race to the bottom and try to hack even more cms (like ppl here suggested). If others turn criminal, what kind of weak mind would i be to let my education go and fuck other people who didn't do anything to me? As you said, good to know how others tick.

OP, we all came here to see details on those dirty tricks, so...

I feel that! Don't listen to these nerds, sitting in front of a computer calling someone a snitch/rat. It's funny how people that work from a computer can develop a "gangsta" mentality from brain washing TV and shitty rap music ( not all being shitty though).

I have ZERO respect for scriptkiddies and wannabe IM-Gangsta's alike!

Low life snitch? I experienced those fuckers that use wp exploits first hand, ruined my motivation for some time since that fuckward used a toolkit that i couldn't clean up. Do you think I had 'respect' for his 'skills' (using toolkits) on my sites and sites of my friends? I had to dismiss a compromised windows installation once (rootkit), did I felt 'respect' for that scriptkiddy? Fuck, no! That asshole-Robin Hoods don't steal assets from the wealthy and powerful. They target normal people, that try to get along. You would felt honored if someone fucks your server?
You do realize, that low lifes like these scriptkiddies erode the ground we all stand on? It's ever only few assholes, that ruin the party for all.
Tip: If you(r webassets) are getting exploited first hand (defacement etc), often you can't get a hold on that fucktard to stop messing with you (e.g. hosting in funky country etc), then follow the money. Try to figure out how he abuse your website to make him money. Then give him his own medicine. Piss in his lead form, click his adlinks, order his stuff. Lots. (use uBot or Zenno).
After all, we're talking Blackhat, no need to enjoy getting abused and raped. Just fire back.

@OP stop bitching and complaining. I suggest you go and do some research on this guy/girl. Find out how they are doing this. am sure there is plenty of ppl on this forum would buy the method from you, if you figure it out.

Also if you figure out what he is doing, if it isn't beyond you principals and morals then just do what he is doing better than him. beat him at his own game.

This is the NFL and you are playing little league.

also this is a black hat forum, reporting to Google doesn't seem like appropriate in a forum of this caliber.

layer cake bitches.
"You're born, you take shit. You get out in the world, you take more shit. You climb a little higher, you take less shit. Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what shit even looks like. Welcome to the layer cake son."

t0mmy I agree with some of your points but will have to respectfully disagree on the others.

buckybrendan The calibre of BHW is not in question.
Unfortunately by you quoting L4YER CAKƐ it makes it appear that you would like to shag t0mmy .
It was an OK Gangster film at best.
If you want a quality list then hit me up.

It is better to take notes like everyone here is suggesting. :) Try to check his backlinks and the content of his site as well. There are ways where you can certainly learn what he is doing and use those for your site.

HAHA good for you. Ignore the BHW internet-tough-guys who talk-shit about people who don't want to illegally invade someones property to make them feel they have a bigger penis.

If you need to resort to illegal activities to do well in life, then you clearly don't know what you are doing - there are MUCH more effective methods in life :) if someone was hacking my websites, I'd like their activities shut down thanks. There is BH, and then there is, again, actually INVADING someone elses property. Hence why Negative SEO is so disgusting.

I wasn't going to post here again until I seen this. You certainly do not know me or anyone here personally so do not comment or call people "nerds" or "internet gangsters" and for what? Having a negative opinion on being a little weasel snitch? For wanting to fight back rather than be a little worm grass? That makes us internet gangsters? No you sir are wrong, it makes us people with a set of values different from yours is all! You seem to be the only guy trying to act gangster with your reply. BTW I'm not much of rap fan!

@Bloghat: not once did anyone here on the anti-snitching side mention doing anything illegal back, if you read you'll see mentions of other ways of fighting back without resorting to anything illegal or running crying to Google. Again you are only focused on your case.

@W130SN: Fair enough mate, as I said to each their own!

The saying is from a speech in a movie (great movie) and its quite relative to what the OP and others were saying here, but nice to see you enjoying yourself!

Oh and btw a few blogroll/pr links as you put it from the bst section here are not going to solve jack shit (I know I sell and use them daily) and anyway it doesn't sound like his competitor is buying links at all...

What's the title of the movie? Layer Cakes? I may have seen the film and forgotten it. I'm getting old... and yea i get some good laughs from time to time on this forum ;).

I know a couple of links won't matter much but i only wanted to implant the idea in OP head, that he should start out source is link building.

OP did say "He can't figure it out" which leads me to believe that this is just an assumption on his part "there is hacking involved". His enemy could have just simply outsourced on a large scale (multiple employees/one script-kiddie/seo company/ect). I don't want to reveal too much detail to the OP about large scale link building because it sounds like this is his only site/niche he is profiting from. Can you image if he learned what exactly is going on and attempts this method on a large scale? In his desperation to save 1 or 2 web sites he would end up triggering the red flags to google and wipe out himself and his enemy in the process.

@anyone

Use the google report tool? Sounds like a simple and cheap solution but this is the worse thing to do. Once a human reviewer looks at the anchor text of that domain they check the listings for similar sites. They might just make the assumption that your site is apart of the same spam network they are banning today. If your domain is whitehat or blackhat it does not matter because if these sites are similar in style/link locations, innocent webmasters can get the ban hammer without warning. If they find a back link source on a gov/edu site, they do attempt to make contact with the owner to plug up the link juice. Thus cutting the source off for all webmasters and google learns another new way to prevent us from succeeding.

many times we can learn from our competitors at what they're doing that we can replicate and do even better than them. It's like in the real world with real companies competing against each other. Do it bigger and better, but don't complain when you're competitors begin spying on you to see how you're doing it.

Scary that we live in a world where everyone suggest reporting people for things that aren't illegal. Gives you that creepy feeling of the world we live in today.

Never snitched or implied I was thinking to. Just wanted opinions as to why Google ignores this tactic and how long it's possible to sustain. Sounds like reasonable curiosity to me.

Yes. I am impressed with the effectiveness myself. Just blindsided me when these brand new sites came from nowhere. I do not snitch. Or complain about too much. But this stings a little.

lol, reporting to Google? is it 5th grader or what? "omg teacher he slapped my ass so hard? omg he cheated on the exam, teachers teacher!!" :|

Man, if he is doing something shady, sooner or later he will get caught. BUT if he is not, you will ruin their hard work, think about all the sleepless days you spend on your project and people report you to google and BAM, all the shit went down to nothing.

and once again, since when does morals not matter anymore?
