Case Study: Niche Site after 4 months applying only Whitehat technique

Guys Im worried, my traffic is very nice Im getting around 200-300 daily organic visits right now, however I haven't sold any penny this month, I could sold previous months with less traffic, so I don't understand what's going on... Im trying to figure out this monetization issue...

Due to bad results regarding clickbank sales I tried to apply to adsense to monetize however my site got rejected 3 times =( I made all recomendations but I got rejected...

Not sure what other options of monetizations I have, what do you recommend?

Other news:
I decided to scale up the content so I outsourced the copywriting and I will improve the articles once I receive them before publishing.

But for now I need to sort out this monetization puzzle...

Applied to media.net ad network, let's see how it goes, basically I want to combine contextual ads with the clickbank offer, since relying on the clickbank offer is not working as I want, so while I scale up the content and traffic I will take advantage and use an ad nerwork to make some money on the sidelines.

June UPDATE:

Okey Here are my stats for June, I'm very very happy with the growth of the organic traffic, my site is not a ghost town anymore, I broke the 10k sessions barrier There are some downsides which I will explain below, however, they are just things that need to be adjusted, as long as I'm getting the traffic I'm happy.

Okay, first of all, let's see my Organic traffic according to Google Analytics:

Captura de Pantalla 2020-06-30 a la(s) 11.36.49 p. m..png

As you can see I got 7218 Organic visits from google which is an increase of 610% That's just nice! There's a bad thing is that despite all that traffic I didn't sell any penny with my affiliate offer so that made me take some decisions which I will let you know at the end.

Now let's see keyword indexing according to Semrush:
Captura de Pantalla 2020-06-30 a la(s) 11.40.20 p. m..png

As you can see it keeps increasing, but what's more amazing and motivating is that I managed to rank 28 keywords in the top 3 of SERPs which is fcking amazing considering I only have 17 posts in total in my site.

Now let's see Google Search Console performance:
Captura de Pantalla 2020-06-30 a la(s) 11.42.10 p. m..png

I got more than 9k clicks and 226k impressions, I doubled up my CTR and also increased my average position, this chart just looks like the Bitcoin Chart in 2017 Lmaoo. This is very motivating for me!

Subscriber list:
My list keeps growing slowly but steady, I get an average of 3 to 5 subscribers per day with current traffic, I offer an optional free gift for those who subscribe. Then start to send automated emails sending some other free gifts and then the affiliate offer(s).

Conclusions and Decisions:
1. My affiliate offer is not converting well I have decided to switch and try other offers, I will still keep the current one but as a secondary offer shilled to my subscribers list only.

2. I started to outsource some content, that could speed up the process and scale things up, I get a piece of content and then I improve it and add all the media and extra stuff, which saves more than 50% of effort and time.

3. I tried to apply to Google Adsense but got rejected 3 times, I will try to apply again in august in the meanwhile Im using media.net but the results I have had are terrible my RPM is just $0.04 which is incredibly low and I haven't got any support or help, my ads are not showing related keywords, maybe I think media.net doesn't perform well with my niche, still looking other options to monetize with ads, I hope to pass the adsense filter next time.

4. I have been able to outperform my competitors with much higher Domain Authority and backlinks on SERPs than me, which is another reason that my strategy is working great and content is king! I keep my rule to do not pay and never build fake links or make any effort for backlinks, just focusing on creating the best content possible and make it viral through my social networks, I work hard on building a strong community over my different social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr).

Okay, I think that's enough for now, I hope you guys let me know your thoughts, I want to know the opinion of the most experienced people here, My issue right now is with the monetization of the traffic, I think it is just about testing what works better with my traffic.

Thank you,
Sebastian

Okey all is set up, created new banners, new automated email sequence, I got approved on a very nice Clickbank offer I will try it out now. I need to find the right offer to start monetizing my traffic.

I noticed that +30% of the total traffic goes to one of my posts, probably the audience was not the right one of the initial affiliate offer I had on the site. Im testing a different sub-niche and see what happens this month.

By the way Im impressed how I have been able to get this results in traffic with just 17 posts, I have seen other journeys and they invest a lot of money creating hundreds of posts and they have much lower results (in the same time) than me. Very interesting.

I have not invested more than 1k in this site by the way.

Okey almost 8 days after all the adjustments, My traffic is SOLID and I'm happy for that, also I'm getting some traffic to the affiliate offers and constantly getting at least 2 daily subscribers to my mailing list. However no sales so far... I'm gonna keep waiting, but I thought I would make a lot of sales with my current traffic but it's not the case...

I have had 4593 sessions this week so far

Around 4.9% of my visitors click my affiliate ad banners, so I get between 25 to 33 daily hops in my click bank account... My banners display randomly I currently have 2 affiliate offers integrated into my site and a third one that I only promote through email or when the users subscribe to my newsletter.

I'm installing Hotjar heatmap in my site to see how I can improve my overall performance regarding Hops and conversions in general, this is very challenging and exciting!

Well you started off strong with sales and direct link in banner to the offer. Seems like ever since you put email signup page between banner click to sales page and were messing around with email providers etc your sales went down. I'm just a noob but if it ain't broke dont fix it lol maybe go back to what got you success in the first place? Nice journey by the way, good luck!

Instead of depending and waiting on clickbank sale, what if you took some time and write your own digital product that is totally related to your content.
For example the post that us bringing 30% of your traffic. You can write an ebook specific to that post and started selling your digital product. That way, you will provide the actual buyer intent and make more sales.
Just a suggestion.

Nice metrics by the way, the traffics are indeed incredible with no link building.

Hooray! I got my first sale in weeks! Damnnn, the sale came from one of the new offers I integrated into the site last week.

Yes, I understand what you say, but I did that, well kind of... I added the banners again that redirected to the sales page directly but as you could see Jun had $0 in sales, so what I did was to switch to other Clickbank offers, and test... For some reason what worked at the beginning was not working this time, weird isn't it?

Yes, I agree, do you know any tool that could let me do this easily? I mean, I don't want to focus on programming or web design and that stuff, just focus on the product and the offer, any suggestions?

You can easily create a PDF document to sell using Word. Its basically the same as building a website except it's more content rich.

Add a shop page to your site and every time you write a post, exclude the key information from it and put it in the PDF instead and refer to it in your post. For example: *main post with original content minus key info* + "if you are interested to know more about this, check out my ebook". Ofc you have to sell it way better than this but you get the idea. I also think this is the way to go for you, especially if it's in the spirituality niche.

I get the feeling that in this niche, originality is key, affiliate marketing is NOT original since you are selling third party products.

In an earlier post you mentioned that you wouldn't wanna outsource your content because you feel like YOUR content is what draws attention. With this in mind it's only logical you would put equal amount of effort in creating a relevant product instead of selling someone else's.

It is very rare that you get a sale directly from your website through clickbank. Best thing to do is to collect emails and then follow up.
Maybe give a freebie to encourage optin

Partial UPDATE:

My traffic keeps climbing, I almost reached 1k sessions yesterday it's so exciting :D:D:D

Also, I started to convert! I have had 5 sales this week!! The three affiliate offers are performing well, I have sold them all this month, which is amazing!

The mailing strategy is starting to work very well, I would like to share with you my mailing stats, I would like to know if they are good:

Email Marketing Stats for June and July so far:

Average Open Rate per campaign: 33.44%
Average Click-through rate per campaign: 13.17%
click-to-open rate: 40.1%
Unsubscribe Rate: 1.5%

I'm about to make some optimization to my email marketing automation, but before proceeding would like to know what you think about my current stats, I think the Unsubscribe Rate is very high, what do you think?

By the way, I've been able to publish 1 article per week, my content is performing so well that my traffic keeps climbing. I have seen many other journeys and they invest thousands of dollars in tons of articles (200-300 articles)... You know what? I have spent just $36 in Two articles so far, planning to invest some more, but I never publish these articles as they deliver them, I always check them and almost end up removing or adding or modifying a lot of stuff, to ensure it is of high high quality, I don't want to disappoint my readers...

I also have seen they invest lots of money in fake backlinks and that shady stuff... I have never made any effort for a backlink so far... I have 0 guests posts... I only focus on creating the best content possible, (and very good strategic long-tail keyword research and optimization, and of course healthy and organized On-page SEO). I think that's it.

I know I'm not making too much money as I should but that's something I will fix for sure, as long as my traffic maintains or keeps climbing that won't be an issue for too long.

So what should we conclude so far with my current case study and current results?

*Audience overview from 1st of July to date* My Website Turns 8 months tomorrow Happy birthday :D

Great journey. Good luck buddy.
Few questions, What is your content strategy? Out of The articles you have published, how many of them are info type articles? How many of them are product review type of articles?

How you implemented the clickbank offers in the site? By only using banners? Or using review type posts? :-)
