Bulk Blog Commenting - Anchor Text or no?

Curious to get opinions on big bulk commenters. Of course, I'm talking about Scrapebox users who do 100k+ comments per month.

What's your take on anchor text for the name field?

I've been told NOT to put keywords in there, actually use spinnable real names (like Scrapebox suggests).

I guess my main question is, without anchor text, is there still value in just posting a s**t-ton of backlinks?
