Building an♚Authority Site ϟ KICK-Ass Strategy

Hey!

Welcome to my personal journey for 2017, the goal is to create an authority website with a very little cost and rank at top 5 for the primary keyword (difficulty 76 according to ahrefs)

I have register a ccTLD expired domain with a good backlink profile.


It’s a 6 year old domain, previously owned by a successful tech startup who acquired by a bigger one.



I started with translated articles from my language to English but due to high cost of translate ($20 – $50 per article) I stopped that method.

Now. I was lucky enough and I found a way to find quality (expired) content. I spend a lot of hours analyzed a hundreds websites and articles and ended with more than 150+ targeted and HIGH Quality posts.


I set some criteria that every article should have

· It should be new, at least written from 2015 and after.

· It should be at least 800+ words. Finally I ended with avg. words 1.500+

· It should be well formatted (H2, H3, Bold etc.)

· It should be useful for visitors.

· It should be well researched.

· It should have comments and/or shares.


Almost all of the articles I decided to publish to my money site came from “professionals”.

After this process I scheduled these posts to publish, 15-18 posts per month.



I bought a VPS server and I setup my website there. I choose Wordpress as CMS and nginx, php7, mariadb and redis technology for maximum performance. I optimized all the images to reduce the size and run the pingdom website speed test.

Performance grade A 99. Load Time 717ms !! Page Size 1.4MB



PERFECT !!




- ON site SEO

- Create Silo Structure, maybe.

- The (White Hat) Link Building Method that I will follow without spending a penny.

Make sure the content from expired domains is not indexed in google. Even on other site someone might have gotten it before you, check with plagiarism checker.

If it is not indexed, I've personally tried and there is no problem with ranking.

If you can share some tips how you find the content would be nice.

No offense OP, your domain is pretty sweet but you are using expired content???

I just don't understand. How much did you pay for that domain?

I've build 3 sites entirely from expired content after I made sure it is not used elsewhere nor is it indexed.

If the content is good quality there is no problem at all.

Other people have done it too with no issues.

I double check for plagiarism , If it's still indexed I 'm scheduling the article to be up 3+ months later. I will share some tips that maybe be helpful, soon.

I don't using just "expired content" ,I using HIGH QUALITY expired content, that's the difference, the average words is 1.500 , well researched etc , all coming from genuine sites , a lot of from these articles has 50-100+ comments and dozens of shares.

Also, I do not have the budget to support the content creation of an authority website. I see it as an experiment , that's the reason I choose to play in such a hard niche with really powerful competitors.

Domain cost me just the reg. price, but it's ccTLD and the reg. price it has is from the highest in the market.

General Information about my site

- All my posts contain external links to authority websites; I link out to everyone, even to my competitors.
- All my external links are do-follow, as long as links are relevant from trusted sources. I Nofollow only my affiliate links.
- Every category has a different sidebar with only one widget that shows the most viewed cat. posts.
- My homepage has eight articles with featured images and a little description + Sidebar with "Must Read Posts".

The problem is not how to find out expired articles, there is even a program that does this thing, It's hard to find quality articles that you can use on your page.
All I did is to analyze outgoing broken links from an authority website via ahref. We are interesting for those with "cannot resolve host" error. We take a first look at domain link statistics and then "view on archive".


Once you find something that suits your needs, repeat the process in the domain you found.

I've been accepted to a few FB Groups and a couple of Pinterest Boards.
I'm working on site structure, I will have finished it by the end of the week.

I have seen some rankings improvements for secondary keywords.

As the main posts has been published, the most important step now is to build backlinks to them. I will start sending a lot of emails for guest posts soon.

Jokes apart this is indeed a nice journey you have planned the content part really well, i my self used content like that for a site once.
looks quite easy but its time consuming.
