[Method not ethical, please don't judge]

Hello community,

I have an idea but I'm not sure if it could work out and would be worth the time:
Thinking about copying a whole blog(s) from someone (not a new thing) to my own domain - hosted offshore. I know Google will index my site, but traffic is supposed to come from social media. Not going to use Adsense for monetization obv... going to promote affiliate stuff like hosting, etc..
I am good at social media promotions and could build a community and post new content every day (all copied). Get a good Facebook community and it's basically passive income.
Sounds too good to be true... anyone got experience with this?

I am not experienced but I don't think this is the best way to making money by copying other blogs. Why not you are trying to write your own quality content with fresh and updated information. It is the best idea to make money online.

bearing in mind you are talking about social media traffic, and not G and you are aware its blackhat, then yes it can work, and it can work well if you do it well.

just beware of the risks, copyright, legal shenanigans, de indexing etc

i would be pissed off if it was miine but i know the score.

THanks for the answers so far. I don't have time to write one or more unique articles each day and would like to expand this method over multiple niches. The risks are clear to me.
Just hope ONLY social media traffic (no Google) will be good enough to make some money..

That is actually a fairly common practice and if you are using SM traffic you can make a decent buck doing that.

You may get hit with some copyright issues at some point but you can "get away with this" for a long time and maybe forever.

I do something similar with news stories and have not had an issue at all.

Thanks BTB. I got a lot of inspiration from your threads about how to build an offline agency btw... making a decent income with this now :)

In some ways, we can make money by coping other blogs but it is always a risk

Choose a good offshore host who will ignore DCMAs etc and why not give it a go ?

I've been doing this for quite a while and just chose some good offshore hosting which don't give a shi** about dcma and you're good to go

I haven't used this hosting, but they're here on BHW;

This is a method that works and doesn't even need to be black hat. A lot of websites wouldn't mind you copying their content as long as you attribute the article to them with an active link that will bring some of your social media audience to them as well. It's just a matter of getting the social media audience and finding a good way to monetize it.

most blogs have rss links which can be used to copy their content. so i don't see why this would be a problem.

i just started a new blog and i'm pulling content from other sources. i don't write anything myself.

How about the practice of taking some other article, run it thru some content spinning software, and do some editing on that?
