"Selflessness" is too high a concept for present breed of humans.

Many, but none. The explanation can be extended much more but in short, Bitcoin is not scalable or programmable, so Bitcoin really has hardly any real utility. But it is the first cryptocurrency and it can be and is being used as a safe haven of value, and there is no other that can fulfill this function, so the answer would be many, but none

EDIT: I saw comments saying that Ethereum for example may be the next Bitcoin LOL. You have to separate bitcoin from crypto assets and people should understand what the future of Bitcoin is going to be as a store of value. If there is a cryptocurrency that will last over time, it will be Bitcoin. The others will disappear, they will be banned or who knows, but Bitcoin will stay.

Also it would take something very special and a hell of a ton of finance to compete to become number 1.

any crypto that really decentralized is impossible to ban. even doge. you can try ban doge. and everyone can easily swap in dex.
still there will never be coin that take bicoin place, since the main reason it hold it place is pionner. you cannot turn back time and take it lol. it pioner status is permanent

Bitcoin can not be replaced ETH comes second

There are many other coins which are useful in some cases. Like some coins transfer is instant.
