Are there any GOOD Facebook ads spy/research tools?

Hey,

I was wondering whether there are any worthwhile tools which scrape Sponsored FB posts/ads?

Kinda' research tool like bigbigads.com - which is shut down now (don't know why).

One major flaw I have found with all the fb spy tools available is they only manage to capture maybe 0.1% of the decent ads, even though the "good" spy tools can be quite expensive. Finally, as you noticed, if they are good and affordable, they get taken down quite quickly by facebook.

My suggestion would be to build a bunch of fb accounts, and build interests on these accounts. Then find someone to build you a quick dashboard where the ads can be pulled together (max cost for this would be $400). I promise you the results from this will be 1000x better than the results any of the spy tools get AND the cost will be managable, AND you control what you want to spy on. Since this would be private, you also face no issues from Facebook.
 
You can try Adpresso. It can make your Facebook ad looking more attractive and it also analyzes the hits on your ads. The tool also has a wide gallery of Facebook Ads that will help you in creating your own ad.

so 'facebook ads API' is a lie created by tool seller?

if what you describe is how those spy tools gather their info, it would require loads of accounts and still yield very low percentage of accuracy. i've tried once added mens fitness in my interest, and i did not see any ads until like 3 months later.

i tried a little adexpresso, and i see some ads that only show their posting dates without ending dates. i could not conclude if the ads were successful, or even if they are still running.
 
if you found a product claiming it can spy on facebook ads without breaking the TOS, the product is crap. by spying here i mean to have access to the full interest targeting. for example adsviser 3.0, i almost buy it but it doesnt really spy anything. it just scrape data from "why am i seeing this ad?" option when you tap the 3 dots on the upper right of the ad. its just good for those who doesnt have a single idea how to write a compelling copy or making appealing image so you can copy other advertisers/ competitors.

on another note, a guy i know subscribes to this blackhat service which gives him all detailed interest targeting of an ad but he wouldnt let anyone know. or maybe he developed it himself. the interests are very detailed, literally like he owns the ads manager of the competitors page (i have seen the screenshot of scraped interest). i wouldnt hesitate to pay for such service. anyone has any idea what is it? tried google for answer, disappointed lol.

Facebook tells you how an advert is targeted, it’s quite easy research seed interests after that

They simply wouldn't/can't gather it via API, they take snapshots from various accounts - there are actually 2 legalities with this:

1) You are inflating the clicks - to combat this some spy tools explicitly do not click on the ad (which is why they wont give you the BH lander)
2) Using fake accounts - to combat this, some spy tools claim to rent accounts from real individuals

But yeah, I would recommend your own dashboard setup like I just described in my original post. I wouldn't share it with anyone however because that's where you start to face legal challenges from fb...

I would stick by my original point, if you are not seeing ads then you are doing something wrong...

i know this. there are tools out there basically simplify this step but not actually what i wanted. plus, fb tells very little about why they serve you the ad. the guy who have access to the blackhat tool actually has ALL the interests, demographics, job titles, placement etc. pretty interesting and frustrating because idk what did he use lol.
 
I have an intension to develop a spyad tool from scratch. We are able to create accounts from locations we need and manage interests on these accounts. Facebook is showing a lot of ads and we found that the we can control the niche to see mostly prerable type of ads. Is anyone here able to provide in details what info we should scrape from accounts? What information do you want to have?

Well you can try facebook new tool (1 month old or so) - the advantage you get to see which Paid ads are Running from any FB Page - not limiting you to keywords, but giving you limited information.

To use the feature just go to any facebook page you want to spy on and on their navigation menu press the tab "Info and Ads"

Also Buzzsumo and Adespresso are viable depends on what you want to track exactly

This is definitely a smarter way especially if it's for private use. What do you mean by "Find someone to build you a quick dashboard where the ads can be pulled together"? How does that work? If i'm outsourcing this to someone from Upwork, what would the rough project specs be? Or is there already a tool out there for this.
