Are the EDU links useful?

Google doesn't treat all links the same. Some links (backlinks), such as from edu, are valued as more trustworthy and therefore have more authority & are helpful towards SEO objectives.
 
They are great for authority boost.

But not some spammy comments. They have their place but contextual ones are the real deal.
 
They used to work great in the past but now I don't see them very powerful as one of my posts got natural edu backlinks but still doesn't do very well.

If they're do-follow and contextual, and you've managed to get over 1000 chars of relevant text to support your link, then yes they're useful. A naked url from an otherwise bare forum profile isn't going to do squat though.
 
yes 100% Edu backlinks really work to get you website a boost on google rankings.
 
Edu links help your site rank better because it makes good sense.
 
It's good for SEO, also they increase your site authority and traffic, they boost your site for ranking it really works well.
 
Quality edu links are worth it but not particularly necessary. As long as you do your backlinks properly you can rank without them.
