Are the EDU links useful?

The problem with .edu links is that people have turned it into a cottage industry.
Many people who make quite a bit of money sign up as either fake or real students on a wide range of educational institutions, and there are user-generated sections of those .edu sites.
They then sell the links they create with those accounts.
This has gone a long way in degrading the SEO value of .edu links.
For .edu links to truly benefit your site, they have to come from an official page; there are many creative ways to do this.
You also have to focus on outreach, but it can be done.
I use a simple rule of thumb when it comes to link-building: the harder it is to get a link, the more valuable it is.
The reverse is true: the easier it is to get a link, the less likely it will be useful.
Anybody can get that link just by filling out an online form.
It's completely useless.
Focus on how hard it is to get the link, how many editorial hoops you must go through, and how official the page that is linking to you.
If it's an official page from the administration or department of the school, Google will put a lot more weight on that link than a user-generated page with the same domain name.

Google always giving prority for edu backlinks. Edu backlinks is very effective for SEO.
