Are expired domains continue working?

not all expired domains are useful. some of them lose value over time while others may have a spammy history which can cause issues. i would say it is very important to check the domain history and backlink profile before using it.

High DR is a nice bonus but it's not the first thing i look at i'd rather have a relevant expired domain with real authority than a DR 50+ domain that has lost most of its value

I think that a domain history can help in this, but history should be clean and relevant. if it was used in a diffrent niche before, the benefit is often limited.

They still have value in my experience but google seems much better at detecting when an expired domain is reused for something completely unrelated keeping it relevant has given me better results

Yes but it depends on what you mean by expired domain
. If a domain name expires and you register it again the domain itself works normally you can build a new website on it it's old SEO values may not remain
No. The SEO value still remain and it is one of the reasons people buy expired domains anyway.

A domain’s history can still give you an advantage if it has a clean backlink profile and relevant past content , but Google values content quality and relevance a lot more today . Also, a high DR isn’t strictly necessary , I’d rather purchase a tidy and matching domain with DR 20–30 than grab a DR 40+ domain with a dubious background.

i think google doesn’t automatically reward old/history domains just because they exist
what matters more is the site quality, content, and links you actually earn.
