Anyone willing to adopt a newbie?

Well the best bit of advice i can give is first read all the "please read" threads in each section and then in each section click on the ratings column and all the best info rises to the top! should save time wading through all the shite hope this helps.

Fair enough...but as a prof, my goal is to help them understand the material, which means that in an intro course I have to do a fair bit of hand holding and explaining...now if they are upper-level students, that is a different matter altogether. ;-)

I understand your analogy, but I do not find all disciplines to be equally perspicuous. For instance, try picking up Koine Greek via a textbook...often lectures precede reading. Likewise, I don't expect students to grasp financial statement analysis without considerable input on my part. Also, you are assuming that I had not done any reading, which is false. I clearly mentioned that I had attempted several measures, but found myself at a sticking point and asked others for some direction.

Used to teach finance, accounting, statistics and business law. Switched disciplines recently after completing a doctorate in divinity...now a sr lecturer in systematic theology.

Excellent said...I myself is a physicist but please all those degrees, ornamental theorems and laws don't work here.Here we need not to impress our proff with mighty correct answers but has to battle our the tricky updates of Big G.Its an endless fight so keep your book aside and prepare yourself to face the fact that this is IM where no book no person can make you learn what SEO,CPA,etc are.You yourself has to be you sole teacher and yourself the student.I am sure you will get to know the power of Big G pretty soon with SEO.

I will say you the same as bornformoney and would ask you to go through some post by veterans and come with ideas on where to start with.Also you can refer the ebooks available.Get yourself familiar with some IM terms first i guess .

also, you get paid to teach
when people mention reading alot...they seem to forget to leave out that you should stick to one general idea, try and master it, and focus your reading around that. how broad i'm suggesting would be like this
1. micro niche sites
2. creating your own product
3. social media and/or social media with blackhat
etc

also avoid JVs till you know more, because honestly if you know very little, your not going to be much help to someone who has a legitimate JV where you could actually accomplish something. often its people who want to test out ideas, they THINK will work, but don't want to waste all their time attempting, would like you to waste some of yours too ;]

I can adopt you in writing some Finance or Business blog to monetize using adsense.
Once the blog get decent traffic can monetize using other Forex affiliate.
For the blog content I can share with you Standard & Poor magazine that cost $1500 annualy subscription.
Need you to rewrite and forecast economic,shares trends. Make your own ebook will be future plan.

This is exactly was I was thinking, thanks for saving my time from typing it.

A different approach you may want to consider, OP, is to have more than one person help you out.

The purpose of that would be to give you a well rounded education. What I know is different than what Greywolf would know and different than what meathead1234 would know for instance.

You can learn from all three and end up with much more of an education than just what one of us could offer due to our "specialties".

I know that Greywolf is pretty slick with Clickbank, meathead1234 is a site flipping master and I know a little bit about SEO and what it takes to get a site ranked.

There are others here that are coding masters as well as those that know how to market on facebook or craigslist.

I don't know that anyone here is solid in every IM discipline.

I'd suggest that you follow some of the posts of those with a solid reputation; go to their userpage and click on statistics. At that point you can either see all the threads they started or all the posts they have made.

You would not believe the gems some of those guys offer.

Just some ideas for you... most members here that have a decent reputation do so because they help out other members so feel free to see what the member with rep has for posts and if you have a question about that particular arena, shoot them a PM and 99% of the time you'll get some help.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Judging from the posts above mine, your off to a good start.

Just be careful not to get information overload....which is very easy in this place.

Although im not successfull im now less of a noob after lurking bhw. The best advice your going to get is to ask specific questions, do some reading of your own and people will actually have respect for you and answer you accordingly. I ask a fair few specific questions and get answers.

Most people on BHW seem to help those who help them selves.
