Any smoker here?

I smoked when I was in college. I saw my grandfather going through a hard time till his road to graveyard due to smoking. He had a worst kind of a life during his last days due to a throat cancer. He basically lived with a big hole on his throat. I saw what he went through and I guess anybody who saw it; decided not to smoke ever again. Sorry for the strong content but thats what changed my smoking habit.

i quit multiple times for year , for 8 months for 17 months. but a rainy day with good food and cold breeze makes you wanna smoke again, you start with the intention of just one and there you go and you end up starting again. its been a few years since i havnt tried quitting. But if i try i believe i can

Wikipedia says e-cig safety is UNCERTAIN
just quit cold turkey. There is no point switching to vaping because you will be still addicted to nicotine. Also, they say that vaping is so much healthier, but that's just propaganda. Is inhaling synthetically flavored hot steam sounds healthy?

Yeah there’s more than physical addiction, which is emotional

I've been smoking for more than 10 years. Now, I am cig free for almost a year. I did wanted to quit so I read Allen Carr "Easy way to stop smoking". I always been sceptic to those kind of books, but when It repeats all the things you already knew over and over again - it helps :)

Good luck :)

I wanted to quit my well paid job and i had decided if i cannot quit smoking than how can i quit a job and do something on my own. It was more of test to my self and that is where i quit for 17 months. You need a mindset for quitting make a reason like i did it works

Lot better than inhaling:

  • Acetone—found in nail polish remover
  • Acetic acid—an ingredient in hair dye
  • Ammonia—a common household cleaner
  • Arsenic—used in rat poison
  • Benzene—found in rubber cement and gasoline
  • Butane—used in lighter fluid
  • Cadmium—active component in battery acid
  • Carbon monoxide—released in car exhaust fumes
  • Formaldehyde—embalming fluid
  • Hexamine—found in barbecue lighter fluid
  • Lead—used in batteries
  • Naphthalene—an ingredient in mothballs
  • Methanol—a main component in rocket fuel
  • Nicotine—used as an insecticide
  • Tar—material for paving roads
  • Toluene—used to manufacture paint

As for propaganda, I was advised by doctors to switch to vaping. They must have a small idea what they are talking about, after all they are the experts.

Yeah, I give you that it's healthier than regular smoking, but still... You haven't quit your bad habit, nor the intake of toxins. You just switched a bad habit to a slightly less bad habit. Go smoke or be a man and quit cold turkey ;)

You will go back .. you need Nicotine. I was a smoker (Shisha) for +10 years. I tried to quit many times but failed because of craving and habits.

Then vaping was like god sent solution. It covers both of nicotine cravings + habit of exhaling and inhaling. One of the best inventions in this century for sure
We get it, you vape.

Tried quitting cold turkey. Lasted 3 years but still started again after a night out with the lads.

Hopefully I can reduce the nicotine quantity in my liquids over time and maybe quit altogether.
