My friends mum died from cancer on the operations table after a routine operation, a non smoker and family non smokers, she was so riddled with cancer they couldn't save her. He never got to say goodbye.I was pretty much the same. Smoked since school, no intention to quit as I considered it to be my little guilty pleasure.
3rd January this year I was taken on a high speed joy ride in a big van with blue flashing lights, (commonly called an ambulance)
Thought I would never see my family again, blocked arteries from poor lifestyle including years of smoking.
I've been smoke free ever since, I eat healthier and now get more exercise. It's surprising how a little heart attack can change your views on certain things.
BTW, I'm only 48 years old!!!
PS. I vape now
Thanks. I don't berate anyone for smoking as I know from personal experience how hard it is to quit but if my story inspires somebody to quit then it's a job well done.Happy to hear that you are healthy now!
Tried but really didn’t like it.Thanks. I don't berate anyone for smoking as I know from personal experience how hard it is to quit but if my story inspires somebody to quit then it's a job well done.
Have you tried vaping?
I've seen exactly the same stuff from both sides. Non smokers, healthy living people struck down with cancer and smokers living to a ripe old age.My friends mum died from cancer on the operations table after a routine operation, a non smoker and family non smokers, she was so riddled with cancer they couldn't save her. My grandad, smoker man and boy died In his late 90s, and so it goes....
Thanks this helps mequit right now before you get heart disease and die a slow painful death way before any of your family members who haven’t smoked.
Vapor is so much healthier?I've seen exactly the same stuff from both sides. Non smokers, healthy living people struck down with cancer and smokers living to a ripe old age.
My point is, why take the risk when there are less risky alternatives. Your body, your choice and as I stated above I will never berate a person for choosing to smoke. I'm just telling my story which happened just a few months ago and made me look at life from a different perspective.
It's tough when your kids are looking at you through red, bloodshot eyes while you are hooked up to machines in a hospital bed. I just never want to put my kids through that again if I can help it.
Neither did I the first time I tried.Tried but really didn’t like it.
According to the doctors who treated me in hospital, yes. There are thousands of poisonous chemicals in cigarettes. Have a read about it, it's scary when you find out what you are inhalingVapor is so much healthier?
Alright thanks a lotNeither did I the first time I tried.
It has improved and the devices are much better.
Pop into a vape shop, (no idea what country you are from though) and check out a few devices. The pod devices are awesome these days.
Yeah and I heard nicotine itself is not really badAccording to the doctors who treated me in hospital, yes. There are thousands of poisonous chemicals in cigarettes. Have a read about it, it's scary when you find out what you are inhaling
Envy you that you don’t like itNot a smoker, as I never really enjoyed them, but could see it a as a habit.
My advice, go to vaping or e-cigs and just reduce the amount you smoke. Going cold-turkey is commendable, but in this case, a strategic reduction is better. The rest is willpower.
13? Dahm whats the legal smoking age? where you leaveI am one, been smoking since I was 13, no intention of quitting. In my garden, under the UK sun having a smoko while I read this
Nicotine, whilst highly addictive is actually nowhere near as bad for you as all the other chemicals in a cigarette.Yeah and I heard nicotine itself is not really bad
i have never made it to a whole day without smoking .... i did quite for almost four months in the past after that it became almost unstoppable for me,I been smoking cigarettes but trying to quit.
It’s been two days without cig.
Still want it... craving.
Any smoker here?
it never worksThanks. I don't berate anyone for smoking as I know from personal experience how hard it is to quit but if my story inspires somebody to quit then it's a job well done.

Sorry for double post. Thought I had edited my first post.
I beg to differ. I was a hardcore smoker, I would go out at 3am looking for a 24 hour shop to buy smokes rather than risk running out.it never works
Yeah for some ppl it’s very hard.it never works
Wikipedia says e-cig safety is UNCERTAINI smoke roll ups, believe me if op wants to quit just get me to roll them for him
