Another Google Algo Update On The Way

Seeing a lot of volatility in serps yesterday and especially this morning. Looks like another update similar to the one in March.

What are your guy's thoughts?

My traffic is up about 19% since the 16th.

The update in March was very significant - we haven't seen anything like that since p4. These small changes are nothing in comparison.

But no, not seen much movements - I get a serp report in 40 minutes so will update then.

Hmm my sites jumped up quite a bit a few days back. Hard to say what it was though; PBNs, algo change or something else.

Yeah, March hit me pretty good and leveled off a few weeks after. Started seeing a little improvement, and then everything really shot up today.

I had my big improvements last month, this month has been - meh. But still making gains.

Yup we need another update as my sites rankings stuck.

Same here!! Seeing a jump in number of visitors.

Several of the keywords I've been monitoring have been shifting around a lot more than normal the past few days after having been pretty stable for months. Dunno if it seems like a very wide update or not, but I'm definitely noticing something unusual for some searches.

Something is definitely up in the last 2 weeks. The thing is... I can't figure out what. At first glance, it seems REALLY good. Check out the data:



Wow looks good, all time high for organic search! Have I been doing some awesome secret link building scheme? No. No link building at all in fact just new content weekly building on 2 niche areas that already have been ranking well over the years. Maintenance you could call it. All past links are white hat built from press sources and legit means.

So what's the problem? Algo updates looking really good right?

Well, sales are shit. This week has set a record low for sales. Sales have been steadily growing based on traffic throughout 2018, and this is not a seasonal or cyclical product. It's something literally anyone would buy once coming in from search at any time, and new user search traffic continues to grow. Mobile device vs Desktop has remained the same ratio, money country traffic has only grown with organic search. In fact, if you only look at traffic you would expect that things are really awesome on the sales side.

We are scratching our heads, what could it be? It's almost like somehow Google has changed the quality of the traffic we are getting, and then given us more of the garbage traffic. Not sure if the algo is to blame, but really hoping things shift back to the way they were. I would rather have less search traffic and a higher conversion rate than shit traffic that doesn't buy at all!

Is it possible you've started ranking for a new keyword (s) that you weren't ranking for before rather than just ranking higher for the same ones?

If you're getting a big influx of traffic from a new keyword, it's possible either that isn't a buying keyword or maybe there's something you can do to optimize the content they're landing on for the different keyword they're coming from to convert them better?

Other than that, I dunno.

I am also seeing some changes for last 7 days but still not received any news about Google Algo updates.
Still old seo methods are working properly. not sure.
