Thanks for sharing! I just binge read all your posts. I started my first affiliate site in January 2020 and just launched my second one last month. My first site has 42 articles (1000 words each) and I have 30 more 1000-word article topics lined up. Only just started getting sales thru my Amazon links (about $20 in March 2020 and no sales were my products).

I had a few questions:
  1. What do you think is the main benefit of using the AAWP plugin versus just copying over the link from Amazon's SiteStripe?
  2. I'm following Doug Counington's methods (KGR keywords and publishing half informational and half product review articles). It sounds like you are only doing product review articles no?
  3. I haven't implemented any Schema Markup for any posts. Not entirely sure what it is tbh. Google has already listed some of my posts in the featured snippets for 2 or 3 posts. Do you think there is any benefit in delving into how to customize and set up schema for each blog post? Particularly considering my product review posts are for 5 top products and not single product reviews?
Reading your post has inspired me and made me want to record my own progress on here too! Looking forward to your future posts ;)

Nice job and good share.
Keep it moving good luck.

Nice Journey. Wish you best to achieve $250 per week goals.

So for those of you that don't know, I just stepped foot back on BHW yesterday. I've been gone due to the Covid
stuff since my post last APRIL. WOW!!

I just moved back to the US and am finally getting my stuff together, I got my BLUE back just a bit ago. So glad to be back, have missed you all.

This website managed to keep its ranking and income of just about $100 per month with Amazon affiliates, so I am happy and surprised at the same time. I have done nothing with this site as far as maintenance or adding any more content. So I am at a crossroads now as to what to do with it. I have proven I can start one from scratch and get it making at least a little bit of money and ranking some. Do I go on with it and take it higher? Do I sell it to someone who wants a little extra income and focus on my other sites which have been falling in ranks? I don't know for sure yet.
I do know I am going to be concentrating n another site that I had built for me a good while ago and have neglected since it was built. Manly because I don't know how to use the themes on the site. Something to overcome once and for all. Stop making excuses and carry on, I made it through all this, an international move, immigration, a new house, mortgage, new car, health issues and all this other stuff.... a theme seems like a small issue at this point.

HAVE MISSED YOU ALL!! I'M GLAD TO BE BACK!!

We're glad you're back
If I were you, I'll sell that website for around x15, meaning you can earn 1500 $ from it or even more and I'll invest that money into new project that I'll push through success (meaning more than 1k earning/month)

Amazon Affiliate Sites still working? I think this type of Sites are now dead :/ I was in that business years back...
And wish you a very good health..

Yep. the commissions took a hit last year but they still work. It was bringing in twice that before the commission cut.

UPDATE: JUNE 11, 2021

So, a couple of things have worked themselves out the last 2-3 days or so.
First, the other website I mentioned that I have neglected and needed to focus on. It's in the pet niche.
It's now nearly 2 years old and is ranking at 17 in my GSC panel. Decent rankings at this point still. Some posts have fallen in rankings due to competitors using improved content to rank over me, that fine, that's the game. That's to be
expected, especially since, I have done literally nothing with this site. Lesson learned. Anyway, the original creator
of this site has agreed to expand the site further and regain #1 rankings, etc. with very little input from me which, helps
me immensely as I can just focus on some affiliate content for the site to get it monetized.
Second, I ordered some affiliate content from my tried and true @blackbeans for this site to give a little kickstart and that will be delivered in 10 days or so. Honestly, he is a great writer and totally worth the price - everything he has ever written for me ranks well.
Third, I may start a journey thread about the comeback of that site, just because I'm so excited about it and have a baseline to start off of.

NOW ON TO THE SITE THIS JOURNEY IS ABOUT:

Since most all of the work of the other site is being lifted off of me, I can now concentrate on either working on this site or working to sell it.

If I take advice and sell the site for $1500 USD or so. I will come up about even on it after domain, hosting, theme. plugins, content, writing my own content ( I did bout half on this site),tools, etc. The reason I say hosting is because I bought a hosting package for many websites (not just one) and well, wasted it on just a few websites that only 1 made any money. So another lesson learned (thinking too big), but the tools I got were pretty much you can only get in at the bottom price and up and I got in at the bottom so there's that. So this may be a CON - not sure yet. Although $1500 USD in hand does look pretty good right now. Although I'm not dying for money at this point.

The Pro is, if I keep the site, I know what to do going forward with it since it's pretty straightforward affiliate site, niche about one product. I just need to fill out that niche as much as possible and there is a lot of room to do that with this niche. I can see this site pulling in $1k a month. The other thing is it's a niche that appeals to a higher income clientele that always seem to have money no matter what the economy is doing but yet are still looking for a deal. So, that is a win-win for me. The other thing is, I like this site and feel a sense of accomplishment with it even at just $100 a month.

I'm going to take the rest of the day and refresh myself with the site, and try to figure out which way to go - Sell or Keep.

If y'all have any thoughts please let me know or any questions please ask and I will do my best to answer them! Thanks for reading.

If you think that it has a real potential and you're not really in need of money right now, you better keep it and work on it untill it hits 10x its earning or even more. That's my opinion.

And the sense of accomplishment that you have is exactly what most of us are searching for.

Thanks @Sweetrevenge I really am needing a bit of confidence right now about the whole thing. Appreciate ya!

UPDATE: JUNE 15, 2021

Spent the day yesterday digging into the site metrics and looking at my current keyword traffic a good bit. I need to improve it a bit as the traffic has fallen by roughly a third in the last 6 months on those keywords that rank 1-10 but seems to have stabilized overall nicely. I looked at some competitor keywords and found that they pretty much use the same ones just a lot more than I do since they have tons more content. Currently, I have about 30 pieces of content and I'm ranking 1st and 2nd page against powerhouse publications that literally have thousands and thousands of pieces of content and huge numbers for domain authority and backlinks not to mention pageviews in the millions.

I think it may be time to start getting a backlinks package going on this site, the few I have are natural.

So, I was brainstorming a way to dig up a bit more related traffic to the site that I could use to get them onsite (more informative rather than affiliate) I have 10 articles like that already and they are decent traffic drivers and get people to other pages on my site nicely. And I stumbled upon a nice way to get some traffic going.... durh... recipes. Now, it's not a recipe or even a food site, its an appliance site, but related so I dug up some simple recipes that include the use of my appliance and wa la.. I have ideas for 20 new articles to drive traffic and drop an affiliate link and a few links to other pages. All the recipes have decent KW traffic with decent CPC. I know the CPC is for the recipe itself but, they are willing to spend so maybe they will drop a dime or two on Amazon who knows? No idea why I didn't see that as an option before. So I'm excited about that. It will also give me some great pics to add to the site. I think pics add a lot to my site and give me more KW ops anyway.

I may even be able to wrangle a best of guide out of it and interlink the whole thing to the articles and back to the appliance review pages. That would be the shit right there, that might give me a nice boost. Pair that and another 10 this vs that review articles and I think it will make a nice bump in revenue - maybe hit that $250 a month that is my next milestone.

If any of you have suggestions of questions feel free to chime in as I am happy to entertain and answer as best I can.
