Amazon Affiliate Beginners thread

Hello Everyone,

I am starting this thread to help bring beginner Amazon Affiliate beginners together to share information and help each other out.

I would like to know your Backstory and what you are needing help with.

My backstory:

Last year around July i had started an amazon affiliate site tailoring to the pokemon go buzz. The website was very basic and all i did was create 3 blog posts and linked to reddit. The site did fairly well. Around 1k/month leading up to Christmas. Since then it has kinda died and only make around $40 a month from the site. In the meantime i have created 5 other amazon affiliate websites and i am in the process of bettering myself in the SEO game and looking at a lot of tutorials and implementing what i know.

I am using wordpress with the REHUB theme and a woozone plugin to import products. This is serving me well and i know both these tools really well so i can quickly pump out more sites if need be. I am starting with 5 sites and staying at that number while i implement SEO strats on those sites. I think if i make too many websites then i will not be able to concentrate.

The next step in my Journey will be to rank those sites well for those keywords. I am lucky enough to have my partner write articles. She loves doing it and i hate it. I am more focusing on the technical side and shes the blogger that does awesome content. That suits me just fine!

Help:

I am wondering what is a good tool that i need to monitor/track/rank my websites. I am willing to pay for a tool to do this. Nothing over $50 a month though. And if anyone can suggest some things i may need to focus on at this stage that would be awesome!

Use serpbook for rankings, less than $50/month.

I would choose serplab over serpbook for rankings every time. Serplab is cheaper and more accurate in my experience.

Use serpbook for rankings, less than $50/month.

SerpBook offers a free one month trial for rank tracking as well.

I'm devoting myself to content creation for my first site now. I currently have about 2500 words spread among 7 product reviews and then some "filler" articles to round out the website.

My plan is to add amazon links by this weekend, and then start SEO optimization. My largest fear is that my niche *may* be too competitive for my first endeavor. There are 3-5 websites in the first two pages who are targeting the same keywords. I don't know quite enough yet about keyword density or on-page optimization to ensure that I rank higher, but I read a ton every day.

Current investment: Approximately $150.00 (that includes domain purchase/hosting, premium WP theme, content creation,

Thanks for sharing! I hope you rank well for those keywords you are targeting. i have a competative keyword also that im going after long term and another i think i will do well in as its easy (apparently!) i guess we will see. I have been using kwfinder.com to test how difficult the keywords are. I have heard people having success targeting keywords with very low search volume also.

what theme did you end up going with? i have flatsome/kingdom/rehub so far i have found rehub to be the best. it loads super fast and full of all the features im after.

I went with magazine child theme over the genesis framework because it was recommended. My site is a review site so magazine works well for me. I've seen REHub used for eCommerce sites; is that what you're doing?

My keyword ranks as 'still easy', which is odd considering the quality of the other, clearly SEO oriented, sites that are on the first page. I guess for someone so new it seems difficult to compete with those sites, but in actuality I might have a fighting chance.

In your opinion, what should the search volume over the last twelve months be to invest the time in the niche?

As you old niche is almost done can I ask whether you used amazon or not and whether you can elaborate more on what you did with pokemon go?

Hi, i targeted a product that was coming out and bought the domain name with the product name in it. i put the flatsome theme on it and installed woozone plugin to import products. made a few blog posts and that was about it.

Are you building any links to your sites? I am pretty sure I know what your pokemon site is. I have a few woozone sites myself. My best site is doing like $100 dollars a month. I might try and do a regular amazon site and see what happens.
