Great thread.

I understand that you are improving a site and generating revenue from it before you flip it y
What kind of improvement do you do mainly? Add more content? redesign? seo? ppc? or something else?

You just built a product review site to be used with Amazon Associates. You put up about 5 pages of content/reviews just until you get it ranking to see if it's going to convert then plan to add more content. Competition is pretty easy. In the top 10 the #3 site is a niche site kinda like yours buy your on page SEO will be better and he has only like 10 juice links. What would you do for linkbuilding? You want to have links that Google will not penalize you for but you also don't want to manually link build.

i'm having an amz site which is in # 1 of1900 local search and making $200 profit per month ( last month i get nearly $300 )
how much can i sell it on flippa ?

Hey there meathead, how do you get clients? Within the forum we all know you, but if how do you get clients from outside the forum and convince them that you are capable of selling their 8fig sites, and how do you ensure that you get paid once you complete the task, or how do you assure them that they would get paid once the site is sold? I'm pretty sure a lot more work is needed than just putting up a website advertising your services and driving targeted traffic to it. A fairly detailed reply would be really helpful for me and most here. Thanks.

Awesome opportunity!

You have already said that you are competetive and not just motivated by money, but I'm simply amazed how much you have achived so far. Would love to work with you one day.. so my question is:

Q: How can you stay focused to one project and not jump around between projects?

I keep doing it, but if I stick to one I just get too bored and dismotivated. Same thing with goals. I do IM full time and one day I decide to save up for a trip to Vegas then to get a better car, a couple weeks later something else again.. aggr. And when I have an above avarage day in terms of income I tend to get lazy and relax all day.

My business has a main focus (selling sites) but then a number of side projects to keep myself and my staff interested. Everyone gets lazy when starting out and having a good day. I was the same when I had my first $100 day, my first $1000 day and first $30k day - just need to look at everything long term.

What negatives have you found in the flipping field/business?

Can I have a piece of your pie? Crumbs will do!

Cashflow. You will often have a large outlay upfront and not see a full ROI on it for a number of months or even years.

Thanks for doing this. I have 2 questions:

1- What are the best places for beginners to sell domains on these days? What about buying?
2- I have a fully developed subscription site in the computers niche that brings in about $900 a month (over 12 months track record), it requires content writing every month and I have a writer doing it at at cost of $70 + 2 hours of my time. I'm seriously under marketing it and I'm thinking about selling but I'm struggling with the valuation. What would be a reasonable multiplier for this business?

Thanks

1) Domains - I'm not really sure. Forums like Namepros is probably a good place to start.
2) Depends on a few factors, but it's likely to be worth around $20k.

Thanks for doing this Meathead, you're an inspiration to many, myself included.
What do you think is the most important thing to consider while doing internet marketing, in general?

That it is a business, not a game.

You talked a lot about diversifying your income... if someone is just starting out in IM are you saying they shouldn't focus too much on one method even if its profitable, or to switch to a new type of income source once we move onto a new project?

Only diversify once you have something making money - don't be overly reliant on one traffic source or income stream.

Whats your opinion on buying highend sites as an asset and using them to build passive income?
Would you consider it risky, as sometimes sites get penalized and lose all traffic and revenue, and therefore the value as well?

This is what I do with any extra cash I've made. I try to avoid sites that rely largely on search (or any source). Ideally you want a site that has no source accounting for more than 35% of total traffic. And, most importantly, make sure you do due diligence before buying.

Ok I'll bite :) I know you're a website flipping pro which is one of the weaker areas of my IM game. So 2 questions if you don't mind.

1. What is the biggest mistake newbs who try to flip sites make?

2. If you had one piece of advice to give someone trying to get into flipping sites what would it be?

Thanks in advance bro! :)

1) Worrying about making all the profit on the front end or with their first sale. The real money is to be made with upsells and repeat clients - not on the initial sale (especially with small sites).

2) Don't read WSOs and don't give up if you fail the first few times.

OP
Thanks very much for the great thread, this is the stuff of BHW.

Could you clarify the position with regard to this, as it may help members here understand what actually happened?

Code:
https://flippa.com/75837-must-see-earn-x-xxx-a-week-with-ease

This was a long time ago now, but that's my old Flippa account. I had some issues with a previous business partner so Flippa let me create a new account and banned the old one so it couldn't be accessed. My new account has a lot more in sales :)

Hahaha, 77 replies in, I bet you'll think twice next time about doing one of these next time.

My question: What do you value your time at?

$XXXX a day.

How do I see your inventory?

Go to my company site: http://flippingenterprises.com/websitesforsale

What will internet marketing be like in 2020?

Good question. I think mobile will continue to grow, as will social media. Evergreen niches will continue to be evergreen and profitable. Hiring experienced staff will be easy as there will be far more programmers and people with experience online. It will also be easier to monetize countries that are currently difficult (e.g. India) as their spending power grows.

Great thread.

Entirely depends on the site & your skills.

You just built a product review site to be used with Amazon Associates. I don't know enough about link building to comment.

Depends on the age & niche but likely worth around $4k.

I don't do anything special to get clients. Just do a good job, work hard and people will find you (mainly through referrals). Regarding getting paid - I have good lawyers :) It's a very competitive space with a number of extremely established companies so it's not a space I would recommend trying to start in - much easier money to be made elsewhere.

How do you organize yourself, and how do you reward yourself for all the work you do?

I'm quite disorganised so I write lists of things I need to do. I keep a large internal database of all client information (although I have a good memory so tend to remember my clients). My job is largely to build my company and manage my team so I don't spend too much time actually "doing" work - a lot is planning and talking to people. Reward wise - I pay myself a reasonable salary - more than enough to live well in London - I like to eat out and go for drinks with friends, I've found it is important to maintain an active social life (and go to the gym!) when you are your own boss as unlike most of my friends, I can't do out with people I work with and it's easy to get fat working long hours!

Hey mate,
Firstly, very excited to see such a thread from you.
My question is, I have found an EMD with 320 exact match searches from only the USA.
But the keyword is with spaces. For example, the keyword being, 'how to avoid cancer?'
And the EMD being, Howtoavoidcancer. com. So, does it make any difference? Does the keyword has to be without spaces, like 'howtoavoidcancer'?
And if these spaces in the keyword doesn't matter, should I go for this EMD and try to resell it? As I have no experience in doing SEO :(
This is probably the noobest question on this thread, but still expecting your quality view on it.

Thanks and sorry for posting such a stupid question lol.

EDIT: The CPC is about $6 I suppose.

meathead1234, I have a method which makes me $10-$100+ average a day from one network but it has to be done manually how does one go about up scaling this without outsourcing?

Btw: I bought CLP2 I think we talked a long time ago via Skype briefly I don't know if you remember my nick or not.

Thanks for answering.

If someone offered you $5,000,000 to stop selling/flipping sites, would you take the deal?

I don't know much about SEO, but it doesn't have to have spaces, no. If it were me, I would target more searches than that - otherwise you have very little margin for error and have to rank #1 just for a small amount of traffic.

If you don't want to outsource, work on optimizing whatever you are doing to make more money (increasing CPCs, % or whatevr). Also see if anything can be automated with tools/bots.

Thanks for answering my question :-)

Cheers.

Do you get fed up of family/friends asking when you are going to get a normal job.

Do you get fed up of family/friends asking when you are going to get a normal job.

He has a "normal" job? He's employed by his own Limited company, which he owns shares in.

Ok, I have a question. Where do you see Flipping Enterprises in 10 years?

Thanks for answering mate. I have another question if you can answer it.
I tried to get started with clickbank. But I have zero experience about making a video. I just reuploaded someone else's video on Youtube on the same product, and it is working for obvious reasons.
Any suggestions for a newbie like me on how to get started with CB?
Thanks.

Not really, I'm quite a secure person.

Indeed. Hopefully we will continue to grow and do more and more deals. I don't want to go too much into future plans on a public forum, though :)

I have no idea about YouTube. I've never been an affiliate on CB only a vendor.
