[AMA] Ask Me Anything - Meathead1234

Hi guys/girls,

I am in a Skype group with quite a few members from here and some people mentioned I hadn't shared much in a while. Thanks to Leith and his thread (http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...sions/610049-3-3-ask-me-anything-q-leith.html) I decided to wait a few days and do the same thing.

For those who don't know me, a basic background: I've been doing IM full-time for 3 1/2 years. I have done a lot of things over the years but currently mainly sell websites (either my own or for others). Over the years, I have completed 8 figures in website sales (clients & my own), 7 figures in revenue across a number of sites/businesses/methods and built a real company with offices in London and San Diego which continues to grow. I have also met a lot of people from the forum - ranging from Diamond Damien to users you never would have heard of. I am passionate about entrepreneurship and love meeting like-minded people (and beer).

When I joined BHW, I had no money to start out (~$100). The people/methods on this forum got me started making online (I had tried and failed before) so I would like to help some others. Do NOT PM me for mentoring, begging etc. - it's not something I will do. If I'm going to answer questions, I will do them publicly. The only time I talk to people privately is if they have a question related to a site they own and are looking for help selling.

Things I don't know much about: SEO, programming, social media.
Things I know more about: Buying/selling/flipping sites, general business, Clickbank, Adsense, generally anything to do with making money/IM.

What was the most important decision you took that helped your business a lot?

What kind of meat is your head composed of?

chicken/lamb/cow etc

How do you flip a website, I meant to say how do u start a website to flip and how much time it will take you to make a website ready to be flipped.

I have a recurring billing product. Evergreen niche. Almost fully automated. Has a number of affiliates in the niche. It is steady - but one thing I would say about evergreen niches is that people in the niche tend to get lazy and don't innovate (me included). This means it can be quite hard to scale unless you put a lot of time and effort in. Some people are quite happy collecting their affiliate earnings each month without having to do any work so motivating them needs some thought.

Do you see any value on flippa in the under $1000 category or do you think the more you spend the better chance you have of buying a site thats stable.

Mostly, I see sites on Flippa that seem to be well coded or custom designed and look with a bit of fixing up they would have a lot more value. Or do you think there are too many sharp operators sniffing around picking off anything of value.

Are people on Flippa more willing to buy sites that have been bringing in revenue for over a year versus a 3 month old site with revenue, or is there really not much of a difference?

Getting everything setup properly. That meant registering a company, speaking to an accountant etc. Then opening an office. I am significantly more productive in an office and find it much easier to manage people if they are in the same room.

Whatever I was good at. When I started out, I tried a little bit of everything. Once I found what I was good at, I turned that into a product/service and then into a business. There's no right or wrong way to do things. If, like me, you don't have much cash, learn to hustle and easy methods you can do when you need to make a quick $100. Then invest that cash into building something sustainable.

I'd suggest you start by reading some threads in the site flipping section. There's far too much to be explained in just one post.

Is it still viable for a novice to start flipping on flippa or has it all been sown up by guys such as yourself?

I am a flipper too.I have sites PR 2 - PR 4 with avarage traffic but older than 2 months (OFC they are Expired domain) i just sold one with good traffic (1k unique visiots per month) Organic and paid ,,but i could sold it for cost arond $300 . Is flippa die /changed the market or still can we sell somthing for good price ?

I've personally never bought a site on Flippa. I feel there are too many scams vs legitimate opportunities to make it worthwhile (and I look at a LOT of sites). If you're buying under $1k you're probably not concerned about revenue - at that level there may well be value if you want to save time and buy something already built. That's not a business model I use, but I'm sure it would work. Forget trying to find a bargain on Flippa, though, there is a lot of buyer competition for legitimate sites so buyers will often overpay.

Regardless where you are selling: the more history you have the better. At the <$20k end of the market, you can get away with selling newer sites, but as you start selling bigger sites, you really need at least 6 months of history and ideally a year if you want to sell for 6 figures or more.

I'm very competitive so I like a challenge and trying to figure ways to be the best. I'm not overly motivated by money and I'm certainly not materialistic. I'm just lucky that I can make money while being competitive - business is almost like a game to me
