Affiliate site or blogging site?

Hi,

I am little confused here, as am kinda new to internet marketing. I am wondering if I should start with affiliate site promoting a single product from Clickbank OR should I do authority sites with Adsense, Clickbank, Amazon, etc. Which one would be fast method to bring in revenue?

I am not sure if this is the right thread to ask this or not. Sorry guys if its not.

No matter what you start with. Its important that you stop thinking too much and start doing it.

I would personally recommend to go for a blog and monetize it with both AdSense and Amazon. Will take you some time to get accepted for both networks, however I think its the best to start. At first, drive some traffic from social media and at the same time start reading & learning about SEO.
 
If you choose a long tail keyword and start an affiliate site, it will be easy to rank a single keyword, but you will earn less if the long tail keyword has less volume, And if you wanted to go for blogging, then it may take good effort, but in the end, its worth while.
 
Promoting single CB product would be more easy and that will bring in $$ much faster. On the other hand if you go for blogging that will require much more work but that will bring in $$ for a long period of time !

So, choice is yours ;)

By the way, I have AdSense/Clickbank already and they are like 5-7 yrs old accounts, but never used them. So let's say if I go for blogging, should it be related with a broad niche and somewhat micro niche?

You could do either. A broad niche makes sense for something more long term, but if you're just starting out a micro niche would be nice to learn the ropes.

Micro niche that can be expanded wide with many, many topics to write about. Micro niche as you may also agree can still be a great authority site.

I highly recommend trying to develop your own products.
 
Authority site would be ideal for long term profits, but if you're looking for "quick" profits then focus on a single product blog and try to rank for all your keywords.
 
If you research properly and get an easy to rank keyword for a clickbank product, you might be able to see quicker results. However, it is always best to diversify and tap into all systems.

I think an affiliate site is best to start with - concentrate on single product or small niche and find something with low competition as possible. Its easier to get started this way, less investment and more chance of either succeeding or learning how to do things differently to produce results.

Starting an authority site without much knowledge is diving in at the deep end and will (probably) be hard to succeed first time.
 
I would also advise you start with a blog - it's broader, can cover almost anything if your initial KW research doesn't pan out, and you can use all kinds of traffic sources instead of just SEO (which would apply to affiliate sites too, but a blog helps you learn how to build a relationship with people via text).
 
Both approaches are valid ways of being profitable. I suggest you start with any of those and then stick to it. Don't give up, set your goals and be stubborn to reach them. You can find lots of helpful resources on the Internet for both approaches and if you try long enough, you will learn a lot through this process and evetually reach your goals.
